MW 1000 US Availability?
« on: September 04, 2018, 05:48 PM »
I could’ve sworn I read a thread on FOG about the MW 1000 being available in the US in October, but I can’t seem to find it now...

Regardless, anyone have any reliable intel on when we might see this item hit US shores?

You may be thinking of this thread: http://festoolownersgroup.com/festool-tools-accessories/new-mobile-workshop-mw-1000, but that linked to the Festool UK site announcing the October release date.

I don't believe there is any information on if/when it's coming to the US.

You may get lucky ordering it as the TANOS version through a US distributor

You can prolly order it from

www.axminster.co.uk

they ship to the USA

from their site:

We are able to send goods worldwide! We have partners worldwide!
Axminster have been exporting worldwide for 45 years, we are a family company with huge stocks, a wide range and fast service. We also have Axminster partners across the world for local service.

If you need advice, call us on +441297302377, use Webchat (just click a product and the chat box will appear, 9-5pm Monday - Friday), or email us at export@axminster.co.uk.

They do not ship Festool products to the USA since last year in compliance with Festool policy.

This is what I got back from Axminster...

“Hello Mr Cleary,

Unfortunately this will be something that we will not be able to assist you with. Regretfully, due to sales restrictions put in place by Festool, we are unable to ship their products to the USA or Canada. I am sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

We would recommend emailing Festool directly on alex.newbury@festool.com who can assist you in finding a local supplier.

In the meantime, please don't forget we can ship most of our other products to the USA. If I can be of any further assistance, please do not hesitate to ask.

Best Regards”

I forwarded it to Alex Newbury of Festool to see what his response would be...

“Hi John,

As per Axminster’s email we can’t export Festool goods outside of Europe. This is the same for all dealers here in the UK, therefore I can’t help you any further or recommend another supplier.

My apologies and thank you for your interest in Festool.

Kind regards

Alex”

Just don't name them here, or FT will go after them just like it went after Axminster.

Keep an eye on Amazon in other countries. Plenty on there will ship to the US via Amazon Prime and you can get some good prices too.

Any suggestions on how to get one, I'd like to hear. I tried Amazon.de and got a message that it was not available in the US. Anyone who has a connection, please send me a pm.

Amazon.de will ship to the US.

Mobile Workstation Basic

Mobile Workstation Set

Mobile Workstation Table

Mobile Workstation Extractor Tray

None of those work for the US

I don’t understand what doesn’t work about them. Isn’t this just a Systainer cart and fold up work table?

When you click those amazon links it says right in the corner - "Seller will not ship to the United States"

There are multiple sellers for each item.

Here's the list for the Mobile Workstation 100 Basic

I order lots of things (tools, electronics, video games, metal movie cases) from Amazon.de and have never had an issue finding a seller that ships to the US. Anything that is sold by Amazon will ship to the US, regardless of what it says in the top corner.
