Sadly, my wife has decided my Syslite is now her barbecue light.
If it's any consolation, it seems one can cook to perfection outside with the Syslite when it's completely dark outside.
These things are deceptively versatile - a latern, torch etc could never do the same job.

Cant believe you only have one! Oh dear! You have to have atleast 2 of them! I did consider 4 but then thought umm money money lol so 2 was enough for now! JMB Gawd - rub it in ... LOL. Was just thinking I should grab a second in the morning. I originally got one more as an evaluation - but you were spot on in a post you made ages back ... nothing comes close to the Syslite package. Still pricey here though! |

I saw one at the JLC show and immediately ordered one when I got home. In fact, I think I'm more excited about getting that than the new Domi XL. It's bright. A lot brighter than I would have thought. I've got plans to mount it on a tripod next to my MFT and light up the place for all the fussy hand tool work that my overhead lights just don't do enough for. And before I went to the show I scoffed at the idea of buying a light. Since then I wished I had it while working in a dark panel box, a dark room running plumbing, and about 200 times while working on the MFT. Every time, I grumbled that June 1 couldn't arrive fast enough. The idea that I can also use it for the BBQ is great news  |

Would you mind elaborating on exactly what makes them so versatile? It just seems like a lot of scratch for a work light. It's just so very well thought out. Stand in on it's side, bottom or back and you get three different dispersal directions. When you use the inbuilt hook it hangs nice and stable and flat. The two light modes are just right for good spread or the lower for in confined space. It runs off it's own battery, any Festool battery (new ones other than the CXS), mains or car. The tripod mount is handy and a light compact tripod is easy and cheap to have on hand. Comes with mains charger, car charger and a good quality padded bag. Expensive? In Oz they get you for $AU300. Thats about $US313. So peeps in the US get bankrolled on Festool prices again! |

My Areas Festool Rep stopped by the job site with one and I got to play with it in real work site conditions.... it is small but powerful for it's size. I wouldn't say no if they added more LEDS..but what is has is fine and would cut into battery time. The size allows it to get in small places, such as under sinks, fit between studs that are only 5 inches apart... etc. Also being LED...it won't burn your arm, head or hands when you touch it! You don't have to let it cool down before you pack it up, and you won't find it melting into your stuff. The only down side I see is.... Festool USA is not selling a 2 pack, in a systainer with two battery packs and a battery charger along with the stuff they already come with... One is never enough. I can see this as a great light for around the house for anyone. How many times do you have to prop the flash light up so it points at what you need to see, or get someone to hold it. It would work great as a campsite light, or power outages to light up a room, in big storm emergencies being it will car charge that is big plus! Cheers, Steve |

I was fortunate enough to win a syslite at the Festool connect in Providence RI. At the time I would have never paid 175 for a work light but now that I have one I has been pretty handy. Very bright and what's best is the light is totally even. I keep it in my truck, its been great for that.

I think the battery life is quoted at 1.5 hrs & 2.5 hrs but could be wrong. If a battery of a C15 is connected what sort of time does that last ?
I really like the idea of 2 lights in a systainer.
