Dear Hook
Do you mean the parallel guide (part number 491469) or do you mean the guide rails? Both are available in the UK if it is one or the other.
Peter

Hi Peter, Thanks for the reply. I am referring to the parallel guides that clip onto the plunge saw track/rail to enable repeat cuts to be made with the plunge saw. I saw them on the 'tube', but can't seem to find any mention of them in the outlets such as Axminster. Cheers Hook

Many Thanks Alex. I have found them at a firm called Miles in UK. I have no doubt they will be available elsewhere and as the prices seem pretty much fixed, there isn't much point in shopping around! till have to learn my way around the saw first of course, but the parallel guide system will be my first modification, to help with repeat panels for kitchen cupboards. After that it has to be a Domino I guess. Thanks fellas. Much appreciated. Hook (John)

I'm obliged Peter, I'm in Birmingham. It just crossed my mind! These guides I believe are used as a pair. Are they sold as a pair, or is that the price for just one! John

They are sold as a pair. But there's the basic guides and then there's the extensions which you have to buy separately.

Remember that the parallel guides are most effective when combined with the extensions. There also is a cash savings when the parallel guide and extensions are purchased in the same transaction.

Thanks again folks. I think the guides will more or less turn the plunge-saw into a very effctive reverse table-saw. I'm looking forward to breaking down a few sheets! regards John

I bought a set with extensions from Toolfest a couple of months ago. Toolfest were great but I have to say that the parallel guides have been my first Festool purchase that has left me feeling lukewarm. I haven't actually used them and am considering putting them on Ebay. My eyesight isn't great but with a pair of +2 reading glasses I'm good to go. The way the guides reference the ruler is naff in my opinion and they are too much of a faff to set up. They also need a mod which has been discussed on here loads of times.
