I'm new here, got the bug though. Two weeks ago bought my first, the ts55req. Next week bought a mini ct, then just the other day got a ro125. Needless to say I'm hooked and broke, lol. Love the site and the tools!

I know how you feel. Your purchases almost mirror mine. It's a green slippery slope.

New to Festool, but I can already see that it is addictive!

Bought a TS 55R and CT Midi yesterday.  Back today to get the ETS 125 sander that I can't live without.

Next weekend? Who knows....

Mid December I bought a HK 55 and a CTL SYS. Last week I bought a RTS400 in a Sys 1 and ordered a DTS400 in carton to put it the same Sys of the RTS400.
HK 55 • FSK 250 • FS1400/2 (2x) • Carvex PS 420 • DTS 400 • RTS 400 • CTL SYS • CTL 26 • SYS CART (2x)

Well went out and bought some bits, a interface pad for the RO90 and one of those slim delta pads, some foam pads for polishing wax and oil and a hard pad for my RO150

Since I'm consolidating all my tools into 2 neat piles, I sold off all my drills and bought a T18 and a CT MIDI (after selling a 22 and a 26).

Yesterday, I received my ordered DTS400 in carton. In carton; because I don't need an extra Systainer and it suits in a Sys 1 with my also new RTS400. I also received a Sys 5. For my glue tubes, silicone tubes and tube gun.

My TS55 stopped working, lots of blue sparks in the motor housing and a plastic-smelling smoke. Immediately ordered a TS75 to make sure I had a working saw (and to add the 75" guide rail to the fleet!) and planned to send the 55 in for repairs.

Just used the 75 yesterday, have not gotten around to sending in the 55, and after using the 75 I am not sure I really need both. The 75 is not off-putting (too heavy or bulky, etc.) and it cuts soooo much better.

So, what are the actual downsides to only having the 75? No matter what I will get the 55 repaired, but I may offload it afterward. Any thoughts?

I have both but keep the 75 in the CMS. No real disadvantage to using the 75 on the MFT . Other then maybe losing cross cut diameter due to the 75 being a larger saw.

@jobsworth - my 55 (not the REQ) bogs down, or at least sounds like it is, cutting anything over 18MM and even sometimes lesser thickness material. Ripping 3/4 maple is a 2-cut process. What I immediately loved about the 75 is it just glided thru 3/4 birch ply. CMS is not in the cards for me, I don't work outside the shop/home & have a have a little DeWalt for when I need a tablesaw.

I was surprised because I always assumed the 75 would be awkward but it felt surprisingly nimble to me. I does however take up some storage room.

My 55 does that to. I don't recall it bogging down this much in the states. I assumed it was due to running off a tranny.

The 75 is a beast. I have yet to find anything it won't cut easily. The reason I bought the CMS for the 75 and the 75 instead of just using the 55 in the CMS is because for 90% of the things I cut the 55 will work fine, but  it's the other 10% I'll need it for.

It's an option down here too, mainly sanders. If you are workshop based, be it joinery, furniture or vehicle panel work, do you need a Systainer?

As an example the ETS-EC is A$839 in a Carton, A$899 in a Systainer.

If you don't like Signatures, just go to Look and Layout and tick No Signatures.

Hi. I'm new to Festool and just joined the FOG. Purchased the TS55 and the MFT/3. I like both so far. I'm researching dogs now because the precision or qwas seems like a must have.

A little shout out for the Parf dogs and its creator who is a dedicated Festool user. I own and use a full set of Parf dogs on a regular basis. Definitely a great complement to my MFT. While I don't think they make having a full MFT/3 with fence and rail obsolete, they definitely are a great time-saving accessory to use. Thanks for the post and link, @copcarcollector.

Yeah, it's nice to be able to lock down the parf dogs. the other ones can move slightly in the hole with pressure -- not a big deal if you're just using them as a stop, but for precision work it really helps to have them locked fast in the hole.
