I would be interested in being able to purchase separately (for the MFS):

200mm rails
those neat little threaded inserts that are screwed into the end of each rail and the associated screw and 'nut'

They don't appear to be available from the service department.

I'm pretty sure you can buy 200mm rails seperately. I'm planning on getting one add'l 200mm so I can use an MFS hinge mortise template with two FS-rapids.

I am pretty sure that YOU can buy 200mm rails separately. You are NINA (NAINA without the first A). I don't think they have a way to do it here, yet. That, at least, was what I was told.

I knew this Italian girl named NINA once. Would be slightly off-topic.

Charles--

Have you talked with Festool Service directly?

Contact information is in the first post of MFS: Notes on the MFS.

Yes, I have, Ned. After posing my question, the person on the other end of the line said he would investigate and call me back. When he called back, he basically said that they don't have a way of providing those parts separately yet in the US. (I would suspect that if a warrantee repair or replacement was involved, some exceptional means would be found.)

I went back to your post on the 'MFS: Notes on the MFS' from January and in your reply of March 27, 2007 you wrote:

     4.  In Europe, 200, 400, and 700 rails are sold separately.  We should encourage Festool USA to make them available in NA.

I agree.
