Hi,
I am going to work on making one of these for myself, but here is the idea . I would like an angled adapter to go between the d27 hose and the sander connections. Mainly for use on the LS130. This would allow the hose to be moved to the side of many pieces being worked on. So that it would not be dragging back and forth in line with the sander movement, over the end of long pieces being sanded. Even with the hose coming from above such as on the boom arm I find that it is often in the way. It would be better in many situations to have it offset.

Great idea.
I think festool uses such an angled adaptor to connect hose to the vacuum port on the side of the small belt sander, which is not available in NA.

An angled vac hose adaptor would be useful for the jig saw too.

Another great application would be my Fein Supercut with the dust extraction shroud installed for cutting (not sanding). In its standard configuration the vac hose extends straight up from the machine, perpendicular to the body, it would be nice if the hose was parallel to the body. Ned,
I was thinking of that myself but my deflector went with the ATF when I sold it, of course. Does that stay in well enough?
I also wonder if the above mentioned belt sander one wood work? Anyone outside NA want to try it?
I am also thinking that a 45 degree might be better than a 90.

This morning I tried the ATF55 dust deflector on my ETS 150/3.
The deflector is a good fit on the ETS150/3, as it is on the LS130. It also fits on the oval dust port of my (old model) Rotex 150. The deflector does not rotate. Limited rotation might be a useful feature in the real right-angle adapter.
I don't know if the deflector has anti-static properties or not--if it does, it's just a lucky coincidence, because the engineers didn't expect it to be attached to a hose.
The dust collection seemed to remain effective through the right angle bend, but a 45- or 60-degree bend might be just as useful and create less restriction.
The D27 hose is a friction fit in the deflector. There's no ridge inside the deflector to create a mechanical hold. The hose will pop out, and it does so often enough that it's clear this isn't the final answer to Seth's wish. It might work well enough in certain positions to be useful. It is worth trying. Perhaps some duct tape would improve it.
