I just finished spending most of the day cutting up branches damaged by the major snowfall om Saturday. Then I spent another hour cleaning up sawdust using my CT and a Dust Deputy; filling the 5 gallon bucket one and a half times. (Too much to just leave on the driveway.) It was hard dealing with leaves that mixed themselves into the sawdust, larger splinters that the CT could pick up but the hose couldn't swallow, and plenty of related clogs.

By the time I was done I couldn't help but wish that Festool made a chainsaw that I could just connect the CT to so the sawdust could be collected immediately, plus all the other schmutz could be avoided.

That is what they make leaf blowers for.

No, I'm not completely serious about this. But it would be nice to avoid some of the after-action cleanup by collecting the sawdust as it's generated.

I used the vac this time for a couple of reasons.

First, I wanted to separate out the larger pieces so I could use the sawdust for mulch. The leaf blower/vac would have picked up some of those pieces, and possibly damaged the plastic fan.

Second, the CT is still new to me and I haven't been able to push it hard yet because my current project is on hold pending a few more purchases. This was a chance for me to see just how agressive I could be with it. By using the DustDeputy I didn't burn through any bags, so that wasn't an issue. And hey, it's a new toy. Why not use it? 

BTW, I was using an electric saw. I was also only up in the tree for one cut; to remove the damaged portion of the broken branch. The rest of the job was on the ground where having a hose hanging off the back is not a big deal.
