Hi all,
Since I would like to get a Festool Level (the one from Stabila), and cannot here in Denmark, a diversity of possibilities have beed tried, I now have a friend converted to Festool, on a job in Germany. He called me to ask for a Festool number of the level. Does anyone have that?

Cheers,
Jacques.

It is numbered M0106.  But, I think this is a US / North America only 'promotional item'.  The "M" usually denotes a temporary promotional product... like the aprons, glasses, ruler and measuring tape, etc... as well as things like the 150mm abrasives kit/set, and the MFK700 router bit set/kit.

As an aside, I used this level today to hang some pictures for my wife.  I can say without exaggeration, that hanging these things for her is usually a half-hour affair at best.  It's never simply "Put it there".  It's always a series of pictures, in a line, or four-square or some-such.. centered on a certain space, and then offset by some random arbitrary distance... Lots of measuring and with a tape measure usually a pain.

Today's project was two pictures, 19.5" wide, centered on a 10'+ wall, with 8 inches between.
I made one mark to show the center of the wall and got the level going.  One minute later I had spaced the level nail marks 13.75" from center and one more minute later the nails were in and the pictures were up.  Total time (including the "higher... lower... higher" game and getting tools):  5 minutes.
the measuring scale on the top is simply invaluable.

However, despite my attempts at proving my point, she wasn't really buying the "This level just paid for itself!" rationale.    Unsure
Good thing she doesn't know how much it actually cost.   Eek!    (She just knows it's green & blue, which means it ain't cheap  Wink )

EDIT:  Here is a link to it:  Installer's Level

Thanks. Since I live in Denmark, and Festool in Denmark/Sweden says can't do, I' have to look somewhere else, like explained.

Yes, know that. My wife's the same. But sometimes I take 5 minutes to show her what e.g. the centrotec system do in combination with the eccentric chuck, or that my sanders won't spin off the abrasive paper, throw them into orbit in the neighbourhood, and make a scratch in the surface, and that the paper last enormously long time (Granat), in comparison to my old (now got rid off) tools. It does not work 100%, but well enough. I have to find a better way to store those grey and green boxes though, at they start taking up som space  Crying
Fortunately she stopped asking how many I have  Big Grin

Cheers and merry Christmas,
Jacques.

Hi, I don't think so, but will ask them eventually. I'll ask at my job if there wasn't someone buying something.
Thanks.

I have ordered off the amazon uk to "us" no problem so it might be worth a try. On a side note I switch to the Stabila  48-Inch Electronic TECH Level and really like it.

Hi Mishle,
Do you mean that you ordered from amaz UK into the us? I tried the text from their us site onto the uk site, but they don't seem to have it.

Cheers,
jacques.

Yes I did. Depending on which seller is selling them you will get...

Important Message
"Some product" cannot be shipped to the selected address.

so if available you need to choose a different seller.

I have not order tools but have purchased books from amazon.co.uk that I could not acquire here in the states. and they arrived if I can remember only about a week or two longer than usual.

Hi Redfox,

if it's all about the Festool label you'll have to order from the States I'm afraid. I've bought a Stabila kit off ebay Germany (the 120 + 40 cm) for 80€ They're worth it!

Not quite the same level.  The Festool version has a bridged vial area, along with measurement markings.
Two really extremely handy features.

The Festool Installers Level is more like the 48" The Lights Level that Stabila sells and as Mr. Junkie pointed out, has a bridged vial and graduations on that edge.

I bought the Festool level last week for a friend who gave me a nice job referral. I've wanted one for myself but am unwilling to spend the money. It is a really nice level. The numbers on the top are very well done. End cap bumpers are better than the ones on my older Stabila's. This would be a really nice level to put on a wall and mark increments. The light is a bit difficult to get out but a nice feature. The contoured hand grip rubber is really nice for handling all day long. However I have my suspicions that it may not wear well.
For those who can stomach the price I would highly recommend it overall.

Finally!
I asked around here in Denmark, and as usual, nobody even heard about it.
Maybe someone knows more on this?
If it comes to Germany and the UK, how about Denmark?

Cheers,
Jacques.

Hmm, just spoke to e very friendly Festool sales rep today, and was explained, that shops must buy min. 12 to actually get any. Most shops won't do that as they sell other brands levels. Still hope!
I managed to unpack a 80cm version (not digital) and it surely is perfectly nice to hande, for instance the end rubber peices extend a little on the sides, so you can more easily hold it against say slippery tiles, and mark it up.
Very functional and solid piece of tool, that I look forward to be getting, hopefully ... !

I would like the short 40cm version too; perfect for inside cabinets and other narrow places.

Also got to fiddle with the new t15+3 version with lamp build in and battery indicator + 3 Ah betteries. Weight is not as bad as I initially thought. Still a light and compact machine.
They claim that the bigger battery is not because of indicator and lamp consume, but because they finally got to make the 3 Ah batteries actually work and not maldunction, which some other brands do (remember 3 year waranty?). Just great. I will want to update mine for sure.
Missing parts for electronics though, especially since Japan is hit by the major earthquake and neuclear disaster. May be a little delayed.
Jsut wanted to pass on my first impressions.

Cheers,
Jacques.

Hi all,
Okay, they're finally on for sale here, and I started with the small 35 cm version. Works nicely.
Cheers,
Jacques.
