That's what I do. It doesn't take a lot of time to install and remove for each successive rip cut. It is also the method described in Jerry Work's MFS manual, and the factory tooling offered by Festool competitor Mafell. Repeatability of dimensions of the ripped pieces is excellent.
Here's my shopmade set of stops for repeat rip cuts of sheet materials. I used these in making my
Entertainment Center. You can set them to reference off the front as shown or off the back edge, after ripping a straight edge on your stock to assure a reliable straight edge.

Note there is an error in the labels in the photo, I actually used 3/4 inch dowels, not 5/8 inch.
