I'm, not certain if it's the "Monks of Festool" or what - but I've become al little altered by the entire Festool experience ...
I have faith in their products now without needing any hard facts
I make regular pilgrimages to my local Festool store
I speak on forums and other places about all things Festool
I try to convince others to join the ranks of Festool users
I find myself feeling serene when I'm working with my Festool tools
A fair portion of my income goes to Festool
Now I don't want this to stray into a comparison of religions of any sort, comparisons with Scientology, etc ... that's not why I'm saying this.
I'll also add that I'm not a religious person, so if this personal observation offends anyone deeply religious - that's not my intent.
Im going to keep my eye out for anything like the following:
The urge to convince my wife that a Festool vacuum is a better option for the carpet than the Dyson
The urge to put Festool stickers of cars, surfboards, etc
Wearing Festool clothing
The desire to get any sort of green tattoo ... or any tattoo for that matter
... So why is this on the wish list? ... If Festool some how formalised a religious order, I figure I could take advantage of an Australian chapter that could give me 100% tax deductibility on Festool purchases in relation to my "Faith". Maybe the "carpenter" angle ??
PS I won't be offended if this thread is locked - I believe the forum members here are reasonable enough to see the light hearted perspective on this ... but there's always "the one" ...

The tools in my truck were talking the other day. The Dewalts, PC's, Boschs, Makitas were not happy. They also were in the minority. Their complaint: They felt unused and unappreciated since the Festools moved in. I guess the truth hurts.

Very clever - I love it But there would be a "form" of commercialism ... in that there would be a specific day when you must buy yourself a new Festool tool each year. One that you have no apparent use for or immediate need (this is part of the faith of a having a need for it that hasn't shown itself to you yet). Be clear - if you have any need for a tool for a job you can identify - the purchase of a Festool for this purpose falls outside of the Festivus. Obey the Festivus - or the brotherhood of green will come and make you hand cut dovetails until you scream for mercy !!! |

I believe there is a Festool fraternal order t- shirt already as mentioned be someone in the last end-users course (David I think?). The image of the angle finder on the backside of the hard to find Kapex shirt is very "brotherhoodish" - kind of has tones of the Free Mason's square & compass. In fact, I have to wonder if Festool intended this effect?
Can't find an image on the web and don't have a camera at the moment - I'm sure Peter or someone could upload an image real quick.

here are over 7000 members on here worldwide. probably 5000 are in the us. if they all got together it could happen. some star wars(maybe star trek) fanatics got together and put it on the censis. ye could do that.

I once brought that up in Indiana. It certainly was intended. "Just one of it's many secrets...." has it's own eerie, esoteric tones to it as well. |
