The tools in my truck were talking the other day. The Dewalts, PC's, Boschs, Makitas were not happy. They also were in the minority. Their complaint: They felt unused and unappreciated since the Festools moved in. I guess the truth hurts.

Hi Guys
I saw the Carvex PS400 demonstrated a few weeks ago - it is the one with the straight body and no hand-hole grip (if that makes sense). I did not get to try it myself as there were too many guys in the queue (for NA that's 'lineup').
The demonstrator cut some 40mm melamine worktop just like a hot knife through butter. The splinter guard meant absolutely no breakout on the melamine. The cuts were dead square (vertical) and clean. He did the most amazing wiggly shape that was a series of tight curves and it was clear that the cutting was effortless. I have never seen such neat blade changes on a pendulum saw (I know these demo guys have to be slick but this chap was brilliant). Needless to say the dust extraction was superb. The saw has a strobe light that can be switched on the make it easier to follow a pencil line as it appears to 'freeze' the blade.
I have one high up on my 'most wanted' list but have to buy my tools at a modest rate - it could take another 6 months!
If I can borrow one (Warren at Toolfest - hint hint!!) to review I will tell you all about it.

Hi Kev and Everyone I was going to wait a few months to get one of these but last night a job came in that has Carvex written all over it - so, the good old plastic has taken (yet another) hit and it is on its way from Toolfest is sunny Woking. It should be with me in the morning. I am too tied up with work to review it straight away but should have it done sometime in the next 2-3 weeks. If I can persuade my new customer to let me film inside his house I may be able to make a start a little earlier. I have delayed getting my Surfix kit as I found an old tin of Danish oil which has to be used up. I know that Surfix has not hit North America yet - I guess that is a voltage problem . Forget the Carvex- just get a Trion and you will be more than happy with it. The Carvex's main advantage are all the accessory bases but if these are unimportant to you, the Trion is a fantastic jig-saw.
