Title: SYS-charger
Post by: mlanders on January 06, 2017, 11:37 AM
After reading some posts the other day. Seeing that the new batteries will be coming to America in the next year, along with now having the HKC and TSC cordless saws and some users are commenting on having multiple batteries on the charger to keep up with them. I see it being useful to have a multi-battery charger built into a systainer so that use could have say 4-6 batteries on a job site nice and neatly packed away charging (less mess, less cords, mess to setup and move).

There were some comments having concern about dust getting into the AirStream batteries while charging in a work area. While having the chargers in a separate room is ideal it may not always be possible. Being inside of a systainer with the lid closed and having filtered vents (fresh air in and out) to keep the cool air flowing and the dust out allows the batteries to be in close proximity to where the work is being done.

I am not a contractor and this might not be a good idea but if i was in need of a new charger this would be something that I would be interested in (it would most likely live on top of my CT so that would always have the batteries at hand).

I agree, and I would even say that additional battery charging options don't just have to be confined to a systainer, or that the systainer could serve another function. I would point to Milwaukee as a great model for how to integrate battery charging into accessories, as they do, for example on their jobsite radio and their new light tower.

And it can be financially beneficial for the company as well.  When I purchased the M18 jobsite radio/charger the Summer before last, the battery charging capability was decisive in my decision to spend more money, as opposed to the regular Milwaukee radio I could have had for 50-60 dollars less.

I have about 7 or 8 batteries so if there was a mulitbatteri unit in a systainer and if could safely manage heat build up, I'd be interested. Something that could hand 3 or 4 batteries at a time. I was actually considering making my own fireproof charging station haven't got round to it yet though...
