I have recently begun using my barrel grip jigsaw in the inverted position. Unfortunately it is somewhat of a balancing act to hold it in one hand while trying to guide the workpiece through with the other. It would be nice to have a benchtop stand, like the planer has, to hold the jigsaw in place so that both hands could be free to guide the workpiece through the blade.

Steve - I was just in the Rockler store today on Colorado @ Yale and told Mike, their Festool guy, about my desire in the framework that "did Festool offer such a product". He said no but suggested that I post here. This may be the answer, if the plate will fit my router table. I hate to think about buying another. I currently have the Bench Dog that fits on top of a workbench. I will see what I can find out. Sincerely appreciate your input. Neill |

Festool does offer such a beast, but it is NAINA I think. Eli - I just now found a stand that fits all Bosch models at Axminster in the U. K. They also carry Festool. I e-mailed them to see if it would fit and if so, would they ship to the States. Thanks. We feel deprived in NA. I cannot believe that it is not available because of UL approval like some other items, but who knows. Neill |

I posted some cases I had made back in February one feature of which was both the Trion and an TS55 mounted upside down, if anyone wants to check it out it under a thread titled "Homemade Systainer and Basis System".

Nice job Mike!!
Festool does make an insert as mentioned by Eli and I'd expect you'll see it in the next couple of years in North America but at this time you'll have to make your own insert for the Trion jigsaw.

Just an FYI to anyone interested, according to Axminster, the Bosch Jigsaw inversion stand will not work with the Festool jigsaws. Even if it did, the delivered cost would have been about $200 (I'm guessing at the conversion rate).

Practice! Practice! Practice! When I worked for Viking Yachts I used a barrel grip jig saw inverted so much that I even developed very good skill even with my left hand. If I can do it lefty you can learn to do it with your dominant hand. As for the table mount we are outa luck here. I do want to make an addon for the MFT3 that will let me have a portable table mount router, jig saw, and TS55. I am in the thinking stages right now on this, trying to come up with a practical and simple design that is modular and able to be expanded easily. |

I appreciate your response however you are making a couple of assumptions that do not fit my profile:
1) Not all of us are paid to develop our woodworking skills as you were. I work 5 days a week, and for about 4 months of the year 6-7 days a week at something other than woodworking. I have a limited amount of time to learn to use all my tools.
2) Not all of us have functional use of all our digits. I have arthritis in my left thumb which, because of the pain, limits my ability to fully utilize my left hand. I am right handed but it's amazing how much you rely on your non-dominant hand.
None of this limits my enjoyment in what I do, but it does place limits on my ability to do things as I would like to have them done.

Sorry Neill, I had been up for way to many hours and was in a sarcastic mood when I made that post. It has been 20 years since I was a paid woodworker now it is a serious hobby. I have been blessed thus far in life as to not have any ailments but I know one day it's coming and I to will be looking for alternate ways of doing things.
I took a look at Rocklers plate but did not see a size. This is important, I recently sold a Rockler router plate because it was smaller then the standard size. A home made plate is probably best as well as the cheapest. I do think that this will be awesome in a custom MFT extension. I am going to start working on it soon. Just have to complete my new portable cutting table first.
