unposting posts/ making corrections and deletes

Hello all
Recently while working on a post with photos I somehow duplicated a picture as they don't show up in the preview. I found it rather difficult to try and remove the double and made more of a mess of the post than good. I resulted in wiping out the post and starting over only to somehow duplicate a different photo again. AAArghhh! I went thru all the wonderfull tutorials to find help on deleting but couldn't find anything. I left the post and went to the infamous matthew for help to solve the problem. Whooola! the problem solved. If someone could write unposting/delete prompts like the ones for how to posts, I think it would be a great help for the slightly techno challanged (ok,me) thou I'm sure I'm not alone here, for future references for everyone.

Hi Bill,

When you view a post that you authored, in the upper right there are buttons for modify & delete.

Is this what you are referring to?

More like a reverse tutorial on how to undo what you did. Having a few bullet type line items with info on which keys/clicks and,or help with the terminology of wording,icons ect.
When I'm building something that I have done thousands of times I don't think about how I'm doing it, I just mindlessly do it with out thinking about it. When I try to teach the same thing to someone else I have to really think about it and remember that this person is at a different level of experience and how do I simplify it to their level so they will comprehend it. Having a reference to go back to and follow a set of instruction would be a good fallback when you get stuck. You know what you want to do but the keyboard suddenly becomes fuzzy(maybe the brain)and you know the answer is just one click away but in what order or which one. Something simple to one is a roadblock to others.
When I used to be a teacher the best example was to make people explain something as simple as having one person tell someone else how to tie a shoe. (I quit that one when velcro laces came along.)
A related example would be you got that new tool and now you can't figure out how to change the depth of cut or change the blade. The trion jigsaw quick change blade is a good example, give it to someone who's never had one and ask them to change the blade. So simple if you know the sequence but perplexing to figure out on your own without a guide.

This forum is wonderful with the vast knowledge and experience that I see and people are more than generous with help in many areas. I can only see it getting better.

You can also un-attach any previously added attachments by using the "Modify" function.

1. Go to your post and click on "Modify."

2. Below the posting window, you'll see an area called "Attached:" with a list of all the files you previously added to the post (this area was not present when you created your original post, but appears when you modify it):


3. Un-check the attachment(s) you want to remove by clicking the corresponding check box(es).

4. When you're done, click the "Save" button and the post will now appear without the attachment(s) you un-checked.

Thanks matthew, on two counts,
One for adding the attached itinerary which is what would have made it possible when I was trying to delete it before. I think this will solve the issue.
Secondly and most of all, for saying you did this AFTER I did my post as I went back to edit something and saw it their. I thought duhh, why didn't I use that in the first place? I racked my already strained brain trying to remember if that was there in the first place, that dejavue thing got the better part of me for quite awhile.
