Helping with Posts
« on: February 14, 2010, 09:07 PM »
Just wanted to let the members know that as of yesterday the Moderators have the ability to modify posts here.

The transition from a single person administering and moderating this forum to a multi level system has been gradual.  Originally when Forrest and I came aboard we were given the same abilities as had been available to our predecessors.  Forrest and I were not comfortable with having the ability to modify members posts.  Shane was kind to remove those permissions.

During the last few months we (Forrest & I) have both been frustrated at times when we have seen posts where we could have been of assistance to the posters and were not able to do so.  We now have the ability to help.

I just wanted to let you know because it has been posted previously that we did not have that ability, but that has changed.

If we can be of assistance, please let us know.

I think this is good news. I've noticed both Peter and Forrest have added a note in the post that is was edited, I'm glad to see this. I noticed Forrest using a red color text, I like the idea colored text to let the op know their post was edited. Maybe the same orange color as the mod title could be used instead of the red. Just a thought.

Thanks and keep up the good work guys.
