I wanted to again express my appreciation for our newly elected forum moderators, Forrest and Peter.  They have done an exceptional job so far with helping to keep the forum running smoothly. They both have jumped right in and started helping out.

Also, thanks to the members for their continued support of the forum during the transition to new ownership. I think the forum has been running very smoothly. I have had numerous comments from member expressing the same.  Anyway...

Good job, Forrest and Peter! Bravo!

Cheers moderators!

Actually, I have been working on a pretty extensive site redesign for the forum as time permits.

If it works, don't fix it. I have seen a couple of forums go down the drain because of 'redesigns'. Not good. The biggest forum of the internet, www.Digg.com, isn't much to look at but it's all about CONTENT over there that makes it work.

Thanks for reminding me Shane. I found some gluten free beer a while back & keep forgetting it is in the shop fridge.
I am going to have one. It has been over 3 years since I have had a beer, so one is probably all I can handle.

Alex, understood.  The "redesign" is more from the standpoint of aesthetics.  The forum software allows members to choose which "theme", as they are called, they want to view.  So, members could choose to continue using the currently look of the forum or switch to the new one.  I don't want to get too off-topic though.  The real purpose of this thread was to highlight the work of my proteges.

Chris, enjoy that beer my friend.  I spent two hours riding around with my newly-driving 16-year-old.  Only his second time on the road.  So, I need more than one...  Scared

I have to agree Forrest and Peter are doing a great job. Of course let's not forget that much of this is due to Matthew and then Shane's hard work. I have to say though, and please don't be offended Peter, every time I read 'Global Moderator' I have to chuckle. It just sounds so pretentious. Having met you in Lebanon I am absolutely confident that you don't mean it that way or are like that.

Markus,

Oh thank you so much for your post.  You have single-handedly lifted my cloak and beneath I am nothing but a squishy  piece of marshmallow creme.   Eek!  You have lessened my ability to threaten and manipulate posters here.    Roll Eyes   I hope that Santa is good to you this year.   Poke If he needs ideas for you, please have him contact me.  I'll take care of you. Grin Grin

You are one of maybe 20 people who visit this forum who have met me / know me to some degree.  I did not come up with the title - the forum software did.  Arnold or Rambo might be a much better vision of a Global Moderator.

Am I the typical vision of an enforcer?  Nothing could be further from the truth.  My dogs' fleas laugh in my face.  I am a fun loving guy who just want to make this place a good place to visit, learn, and have fun.  My hope is that I never will have to use any responsibilities and authorities except against spammers.

Markus,  Thank you.  I chuckle at the idea also.  If my wife gets me a bathrobe with "Global Moderator"  on the back for Xmas - I'll take back her gifts.  Scared  Then I'll run.

Peter

EDIT:  This post was edited by the poster because it could easily be misconstrued.  It is all meant to be humorous, although it may fall short of that goal.  This is also an example where those smileys can help a post by indicating the intent.
