Everyone,
This is a handy way to see everyone who has won the contest.  It's also a great way to review the winning projects.
Use this space for any comments or suggestions about how winners are listed.
Thanks everyone,
Matthew

This thread is old and maybe it's time to let it slip in to oblivion.
Check out my new blog, The Green and Dark Blue Blog.

Sorry, Greg.  I didn't see your post.

I haven't maintained it.  Is there a compelling reason to continue to keep record of past winners?  Winners are announced in the contest threads.

The question then is "Why was it started?"

No offence meant to Matthew or anyone.

No. I just thought it was cool to see all the contest, winers, and their winning projects.

I would like to see it stay

This thread is worth keeping, simply for the subtle link to the 'How to hide tools from your spouse' thread.  Domino duster... 1400W mixer...  Oh man, that's funny stuff.
I though of an acronym reading that post:  TS55/75 = Toast Slicer.

Perhaps for some of us new FOGgers, it's a peek into the early days, with many of those folks still around and still lending expertise.  I know it could be found via search, but not if you don't know to look for it!

Good Morning,
When I ran the forum, I always imagined major threads to be like ongoing stories, rather than things that come to an end.  I also thought that all interesting information should have multiple access points.  I also thought that any creative work could serve -- always -- as inspiration.  A project from a year or two of five years ago is just as relevant as one done yesterday.

Putting all that together, it made sense to try and show the whole story of the contests.

Also, on a very basic level, the contests were always very exciting for me.  Each one represented a flurry of activity -- working with people who provided prizes and hearing from the forum community about what they wanted to see.  It was just difficult for me to do it and forget it!

That's my reasoning.

Thanks,
Matthew

I vote if possible to keep the winner's thread going and up to date. It is inspirational to view projects and entries. Would be nice to have a section that just stored projects posted with build details as they get lost in the multitude of all postings. For a wood whacker like me with little artistic ability, I love to see projects with details as this gives me hope that I can accomplish some of them myself.
