Who Will Own Fogtainer 1 ? A Contest - This contest ends Sunday, August 29, 2010 at midnight EDT.

As part of the Fogtainer project, Fogtainer 1 will be given away to a lucky member of the FOG.  Who is it?  Only Shane and I know.  We need to see if you know.

Here is the jist.  Fogtainer will be shipped out on Friday to a member who has participated in one of the Fogtainer threads.  I have gone thru those threads and have made my decision on whom to award it to.  That part is done.

The fun part is that I want to see which member can guess who it is.  We will not know who it is until the recipient posts pictures of the Fogtainer 1.  It has been made more special and even I have not seen it!  Note ? attendees at the last class in Lebanon ? please do not post about its appearance.

Here are the rules ? I made them up:

Go thru the threads regarding the FOGtainers, think about who might be worthy of FOGtainer 1.  Post here with your guess.

You get one guess.  If you modify your initial guess, you are disqualified.  If you post a guess by mistake again, the first guess counts.  So search and think carefully.  Remember that I am a teaser and I may consider others that are not the most obvious - or not.

Once the recipient reveals her / his identity, then we will know if anyone guessed correctly.  If one member guesses correctly, then it is easy.  They win.  If more than one guesses correctly, then I will draw a name from the pool of correct guessers.

For those of you in far away lands, you may compete in this contest. Festool employees and myself may not enter.  Dealers may enter!

A winner will be announced via a video on Festool.tv if there are multiple members in the running and there is a drawing.  Of course a link will be published here.  If only one member guesses correctly, then there will be an announcement here.

What is the prize?  You will have to be patient and wait and see.  I have been given the green light to do another project similar to the FOGtainer and the recipient will be receiving a prototype to test and report back on.  It will be cool ? the BIG GUY thought it was a good idea.  The recipient of the prize will not be allowed to reveal what the prize is, but will be involved in the official announcement of its availability to the FOG.

This is a thank you for all the support that you have given to the FOGtainer project even if you were not able to purchase one.

I hope that all of you will participate and play.

Happy searching and reading.

How do I enter:  Post your guess in this thread.

Peter

EDIT:  An announcement:  Everyone who posts in this thread and guesses a member in accordance with the goofy rules above and is WRONG will be entered into a a drawing to receive the same prize as the winner.  Your odds of winning will just be lower.

Have fun with this.  That is what this is all about!

Who Will Own Fogtainer 1 ?

To clarify, that does not mean just that it's a Systainer size 1.  That means the inaugural FOGtainer, the first, numero uno, the alpha, the mother of all FOGtainers... you get the idea.

You guys just don't know what a great choice you made when you voted Peter into his moderator position.  I can't imagine a moderator being more devoted and dedicated to the forum and its members.

Shane,

Numero Uno is a sys 1 in size though.

But heck, who cares about size anyway.

Uhm, I already know who the Owner of the FOGtainer -1 will be, so I guess I'm disqualified from this contest.  Thanks for blabbing, Peter!   Blink Wink Big Grin

On Edit:  Since I can qualify in the consolation prize portion of the contest by guessing incorrectly, I'll guess Shane.   Tongue Out

My guess is BRICE BURRELL.

He was the first person on that thread to suggest a group buy on a custom printed systainer.

BTW, he also said, when he was told the minimum order for printing would likely be 50 pieces, "50 may be hard to swing"!!! And we finished on what, 275 or something like that? Not bad, really! Big Grin

I'd say Johnny round boy, and may victory be his!

I really like the FOGtainer idea and appreciate all the effort that went into it, but sadly couldn?t afford to participate in the buy at this moment in time, economy being as it is.
If only they would be available for Toolpoints, i would actually bother to register these....

Anyway: I wish Johnny the best of luck with his FOGtainer #1, and I'll gladly test my prize ( I suspect it's a FOGtop for my MFT-3 ) for durability and colour-fastness  Smile

I searched the original custom sysport thread where the fogtainer was born and this poster was the first one that put his hand up for an order. So my vote goes to Charimon.

"I would be up for 2-3 sys 2's  If anyone wants to start it

Shane?  Could you bring up the idea of a Fog group special edition run  of the Dk Blue w/ Green Latches??? (heck, instead of FESTOOL Systainer have it FOG SE Systainer and use the Tanos handles too Thanks Thanks

I think I will go with Richard on this one, Charimon from what I could gather put out an idea that i think was just how the real deal went down with the FOGtainers. If I reeeeeeealy had it my way though i would have Peter keep the FOGtainer 1. Peter, alot of us helped put the idea on the table but your the one who made it all happen.......THREE CHEERS FOR FOGtainer Pete. Thanks

My final vote is for Charimon. Good luck.

No disrespect Charimon and I applaud the fact that you were brave enough to be the first to order, but I think Wayne's renderings really sold them. For the first time, one could actually see the finished product and almost smell its newness  Drooling

My vote remains unchanged for Wayne

Alright... I have to go with waynelang2001.

Here's why:
http://festoolownersgroup.com/member-projects/prototype-sysport-design/msg93846/#msg93846

He dubbed "FOGtainer" right there.  I think it was the first mention and use of the name.

My guess is Shane Holland.  It's going to be shipped from my desk to my house via the Big Red Ram Express.  Poke

Seriously, though, there's no reason why ALL members shouldn't participate here.  Who is your guess for the lucky FOGtainer Numero Uno to be sent to?
