The Festool Owners Group is a premier destination on the web for people who are seeking information about Festool products. One of the best sources of information is reviews that are written by our members. This educates others about the products and offers an unbiased, first-hand account of the tool or accessory. Based on the success of our last review-based contest, we're doing it again! Members can submit a product review in their own words about a Festool tool or accessory that they currently own for a chance to win. I would say that the majority of forum members have, at some time, benefited from the sharing of knowledge here on the forum. This is your opportunity to share with others and have the potential of being rewarded for your endeavors. Contest Rules- The reviews must be your own original material.
- You may submit reviews of more than one product to increase your chances of winning. Multiple reviews of the same product are not eligible for consideration.
- Existing reviews are not eligible for this contest. You may not submit a review for the contest of a product which you have already reviewed on the forum.
- Reviews must consist of two or more photos of the product in use and a minimum of 400 written words or a minimum of sixty seconds (60s) of video.
- Video reviews should be uploaded to YouTube and then posted in your review thread.
- Contest entries must be posted by Thursday, February 17th, 2011.
- The contest is open to members of the forum in the United States and Canada, excluding Quebec, who are at least 18 years of age, except where prohibited by law.
- Festool employees, dealers and affiliates, and FOG moderators are not eligible to win (but may choose to participate).
- Festool reserves the right to use the content from any entries in the SysNotes email newsletter or other marketing materials.
PrizesWinners will be randomly selected from the list of entries that adhere to the contest rules above and announced by Friday, February 18th, 2011. How to Enter.Members must submit their entries for the contest in the form of a post on the forum. The post must include the following information at a minimum: - Reviews should be entitled "Review of Festool" and then the product name and product number and should be posted as a new thread in the Festool Tool Reviews section of the forum.
- Written reviews must contain two or more application photos showing the product in use and a minimum of 400 words.
- Video reviews must be a minimum of sixty seconds (60s) long and should be uploaded to YouTube. Video reviews can also be posted in a thread on the forum using the same formatting listed above for written reviews.
Feel free to post any questions you might have. Best of luck to everyone! Workcenter WCR 1000 Rotex RO 90 DX

Shane you have two different times for the video. You first have 90 seconds in the rules and you list 60 sec in how to enter.

Thanks for catching that, Greg. It's sixty and I have updated it accordingly. The previous review contest required 90 seconds. I figured I'd reduce it to make it easier since folks may find it hard to talk in front of a camera.

Brice, you've got too much air time. Your entry has to be in Pig Latin with a minimum of 800 words and nothing that sounds like JMBspeak.

Brice, If you can't find yours, I have another one. I'll loan you one - just because I enjoy your reviews. PS - I don't speak any form of Latin! Peter

Don't tell me I'm the only one that wants a free RO90 or WorkCenter. Where are the reviews guys. I hope to get the ball rolling with a short, unofficial, video review, that is if I can find the time this weekend.

I'd be all over it if it weren't for this requirement:
"Reviews must consist of two or more photos of the product in use and a minimum of 400 written words or a minimum of sixty seconds (60s) of video. "
Using power tools when it's 10 degrees F or lower in the shop isn't a good time.

So all the europeans who contribute to the forum are excluded. Unfortunately. Just as we in NA are unfortunately excluded from so many tools and accessories. Maybe Festool - not Festool USA - will devote the time and money to run a forum like this - and run contests like this?

Peter I thought it was ul that decided you were not compitent enough (as a county)to be let loose with some of the festools and that is an american outfit
I was just thinking of the many people that have spent conciderable time reviewing festools and uploading content to the fog.

I hoped my reply would be enjoyed with some humor. I embrace the contributions from our foreign members and have said so numerous times. I too personally hope that one day all can be eligible for contests - but there are obstacles far beyond even my need or right to know that must be in place.

I hope all members consider themselves winners with the wealth of information here. I know that might sound a little cheesy, but I really think that's the case. It's the symbiotic relationship amongst members/moderators/Festool that makes this forum great.
However, the reality is that it's not as easy for us to conduct contests across continents. And, Festool offers giveaways, contests, promotions, campaigns, special limited time products, special programs like the tool replacement program for stolen tools and Tool Points in Europe, that vary greatly from region to region. It's not that we don't appreciate the contributions of our international members, it's just difficult to administer and award prizes outside of the U.S./Canada.
Even so, we may have additional international contests in the future and I'll make every effort to guarantee that we will have at least one winner from abroad when we do. How's that?

Feel free to post any questions you might have. Best of luck to everyone! Workcenter WCR 1000 Rotex RO 90 DX Shane im sorry to have to give you grief over this and I can see it would be less than straight forward to send a ro90 to europe as the American model would be UL and not CE There could also be other issues stoping you including people outside of the states that I have no idea about. but by limiting the entries to the states you also limit the amount of the material and I have seen some good stuff from this side of the pond. And just as a aside we dont get anything festoolwise here in the UK no toolpoints or tool replacement program nada.. Shane I will look forward to a international contest in the future and thank you for all your hard work
