Shane,

Paul Marcel is filling an immense gap in Festool user information.  Y'all need to reward him appropriately and ensure that somebody in Festool Germany recognizes the value of his efforts.  It's his work that has sold me on the utility of many Festool products.  He is your best salesman!

On behalf of all the other "lurkers" here,  thanks Paul for a job well done.

His review was what pushed me over the edge to pick up an RS2.    Big Grin

I agree with others that Paul is a great salesman for Festool and he has certainly earned any item that Festool sends his way.

Right now, I am going to purchase two small items based on one of Paul'seviews -a hard pad and an auxilary handle for the Rotex 150.  Later on, I expect to buy more.

Beauty, eh? Congrats to VictorL and Aegwyn11 for winning. Thanks to Paul Marcel for the videos, they were great to watch. All the other reviewers were great too, I think I picked up something from everyone's reviews. The posts also let me participate more in the forum and learn about fellow FOG'ers.

I'm glad I got a chance to participate and the new T-Loc was totally unexpected. Now I just have to find room for it! Much appreciated.

Have a great weekend!

I've said it before and I'll say it again - fantastic job on the videos, Paul-Marcel.  If you received commission for all the Festool stuff we bought as a result of your videos, you could probably get yourself a Workcenter and a Rotex.  Thumbs up!

Oh, and congratulations to Nick and Victor.

The funny thing is, I think that I see more immediate use for a T-Loc than either the Rotex or Workcenter!  Funny how things work out.  Thanks, Shane.  I need to figure out which size I would like...

Congratulations to Victor and Nick!  I think Victor was the first to post a written review and Nick the last to post a video review.  So, for the superstitious, keep that in mind for the next contest!

As for being a great salesman, I hope I wasn't!  Was just being honest about what I like and sometimes dislike about a tool, but if that sold you on something you 'need'  Cool just don't tell your wife I was responsible!

I also want to thank Shane and Christian for awarding me a prize despite not winning per the rules.  It will be very appreciated!

So... what is it you ask? Oh, this is something even Mr NAINA doesn't have!  (btw, happy birthday Smiley)  While I know Shane told me not to tell you, I'm too giddy... it's a prototype for a new Festool product so there's only one in the world and it will be in my shop in a week.  Forget that puny sander or that organizer for your screwdrivers... no! this, folks is the real deal:

The Festool Kegerator

Emblazoned with Festool and a T-Loc to secure your favorite beverages.  Better still, should this product come to market, you can put two side by side and lock them together.

Paul, you contradict yourself.  That, plus that fact that you are articulate and creative about your likes and dislikes, is exactly why you are a great saleman.

Same here  Big Grin Thanks Shane!   I also asked for Sys3.  The new T-loc is really nice.  I was surprised that the tool id card is as thick as a credit card.  I thought that it would be thinner.

I just read through this thread and wanted to say "Well Done Festool" for giving all the reviewers a surprise prize. That's a really classy touch and rare in today's world of corporate bottom lines and penny-pinching.

What with the FOGtainer support, the reconditioned tools programme, the customer service and of course the FOG, it's been a fantastic year to be a Festool user and Festool would definitely get my vote for favourite company.

So...WDF!

Congrats everyone! I must say that the video reviews helped me decide to finally buy. I haven't seen too many of the videos yet, but I am working through them. I saw all of Kreg's videos and he helped me make some decisions. I saw a couple of paul's as well the were excellent!

The videos definitely were the deciding factor in me buying.

Shane, do you guys have any statistics as to if sales increased? It would be interesting to see if there was a notable increase. I know my wallet is about 6k lighter so far, and NOW Kreg had to review the kapex on the stand!  Eek! So I expect my wallet to be a little lighter after JLC!  Embarassed

Thanks everyone for all your time on the videos and reviews. I am looking forward to watching them all!

Scott, I'm not going to be coy about it, one of the goals of the review contest was to peak customers' interest in the tools being reviewed. However, it would be impossible to track what sales may have resulted from the reviews. I don't expect that everyone ran out and bought all of the tools that were reviewed but that it may help you make an educated decision when you're considering your next purchase. Plus, there are some hidden gems in our product line up and I think a few of those may have been highlighted in the reviews.

I know I personally find online reviews very helpful when I'm making purchases. For instance, I've been reading some recently because it's time to upgrade my wireless router at home and I want to make sure I get one that has good range throughout my entire house on all floors. Same with a recent purchase of a new home theater system. I can feel confident that I'm getting a good value for my money and minimizing risk. Same with the reviews here.

My systainer arrived today, thanks.  I also chose a systainer 3.

The systainer has already been spoken for by my granddaughter Isla.  We will work together on making trays and boxes to hold her jewellery making tools and supplies.  Once that has been done, I will post photos here.

Minnie, thanks for your personal note on the package and I look forward to meeting you when I am Lebanon in mid-April.

Brice, Isla will, no doubt, create her own art to fit into the four card slots.

I just put my business card in in temporarily to see how "standard" North American businees cards fit (not well) and to give  a hint to Isla.

I have some light weight business card for my ink pet jet printer, I printed out some labels for my RO90 and few other tools that will be upgraded to T-Locs.  I found I needed to trim off about 3/32" (2.5mm).

Yes, I had to trim that amount off.  Also our cards should be 5mm higher.
