There's something quite special in this month's SysNotes, our email newsletter, that you'll want to check out if you're in the U.S. or Canada. You can sign up on our homepage at http://www.festoolusa.com and will want to do so before tomorrow morning. Dealers - Please don't post about the contents of this month's SysNotes even though you receive it in advance of customers!

I obviously have a dealer that doesn't listen to warnings. I've got to say Shane. Never in my wildest imagination would I have thought you guys would come up with this.
Starting in October, if you buy a Festool CT26 or CT36, you get a realistic looking action figure of your choice, either Shane, Christian, Rick or Brian with a little power tool for them. That was a great marketing idea, guys!

OMG Shane U R such a tease!
This is like waiting for The Fed to announce something, and the markets are all a-twitter...
I am now accepting (virtual) bets on the news. -- RO 90 DX coming to NA (this news would cause a 9.3 earthquake to my credit card) -- Vac Sys got the go ahead (I would use this to keep my kids seated during meals!) -- CMS modules (oooh la la)

Shane,
I know the issue of 'absent sysnotes' has come up before, and I could be wrong, but I don't think I have seen one in a couple of months.
I realize that the current one has not come out yet, so I will wait and see if I get a notice on it and let you know.

I started receiving SysNotes in September 2008, and have received one each month in '08 except for December '08. In 2009, I got one for every month except for August '09. This year (2010) I have only received three; February '10, May '10 and August '10. So, am I missing a bunch of these SysNotes?

Well that's me out. Any reason for this? I presume it is language-related.

Richard I think its a provincial government thing and nothing to do with Festool. See it all the time with various contests.

I presume it is because Quebec has a legal requirement to have everything translated into French which Festool cannot be bothered with or do not see the added value of complying with.
I completely agree with Festool, since Quebec has been on a loony-language binge since the 1970s, but I just wanted to know if this was the actual reason.

Yes, we have to exclude Quebec due to it's stringent contest rules. Sorry.

It is not related to a language issue in Quebec. I can't actually remember what the EXACT reason is, but it has something to do with satisfying contest rules for contests offered in Quebec. It is not a language thing, I am certain of that. Quebec has some of the niftiest/dastardly regulations for consumer protection in the world, which in some cases, we see other Canadian provinces follow/adopt after their lead years later. This is just an example of it, even though I can't remember exactly what it was that makes it that Quebec gets themselves excluded for contests, is along those lines. Vaguely thinking it is some rule that says that the contest has to pony up collateral for the item offered in order to conduct a contest in Quebec. As a result of "whatever" rule (if not that which I suggested) is in place, I suspect that is the reason that many contests offered from US sources, exclude Canada as a whole due to this, rather than deal with simply excluding Quebec, which is disappointing.
