Does that mean that if someone makes a video before tomorrow they win the rotex or is that the end?

Chris, the deadline is next Wednesday.  If there is only one entry, it would be declared the de facto winner.

Ah yes, sorry I misread. I would love to make a video but I don't own a videocam and I don't have the cap or bandwidth to do that :/

Goodluck to everyone.

P.S Shane should I fix my post before anyone else reads my mistake?

Oh, one question, when the contest closes on june 30, does that mean the last entries can be put up on the 29th or the 30th?

Your review must be posted with a date stamp no later than on 6/30 @ 11:59pm EST.  Big Grin

Well, as it stands, it looks like the prize for a video review will be forfeited due to lack of any entries in that category.  Blink

You got a video now, Video review of the Festool MFT/3 just posted. I also have a longer version at about 5.5 minutes.

Chris,

This is supposed to be a fun place.  You did well.  Using tools and woodworking in general is about experimenting and doing.

A piece of advice to write down and carry with you in a wallet is a phrase told to me 27 years ago when I started:  "So you made a mistake.  You know what, the only people who don't make mistakes are those who do nothing or are dead.  Make mistakes and don't be useless. Come to work tomorrow and we will work on that mistake."

 Thanks for your video!

Peter

I should probably be ashamed at my last minute, last two, somewhat silly entries... Way too tired to write a "serious" review.  Hopefully they're a marginally fun read, while still being somewhat informative.   Embarassed

First, I'd like to encourage all of the forum members to post a thank you to everyone who participated in our contest.  The contributions are definitely appreciated!

We ended up with a total of 13 members creating 29 reviews of products over the course of our contest.  My personal thanks to all of the members who participated.  I believe that reviews are one of the most important parts of the forum and offer independent, unbiased opinions of products (Festool and otherwise) to fellow members and visitors to the site.  I was pleased to see that the reviews generated discussions and helped to answer questions about various products.  Although the contest has ended, I hope to continue to see many, many reviews from members in the coming months.

Now, on to the winners who were randomly selected from all of the entries.  It's apparent that by creating multiple reviews, our winners increased their odds of winning.  Our video review category winner is Wood_Junkie, who had a total of 7 entries in the two categories.  Our written review category winner is GPowers, who had a total of 6 entries in the two categories.  These two guys are soon to be proud owners of a Festool Rotex 150 FEQ Sander.

Again, please post a public thank you to our participants or send them a PM to them all!

Congrat's, gentlemen! If you don't already know, you're going to love that sander.

Excellent idea for a contest, Shane.

I was impressed with the entries and especially, the unedited videos. That takes talent and usually, a lot of practice.

YEAH very apparent  Sad maybe next time you do a competition like this the rules could be changed to one entry per person to make it fairer. I know your idea was to get more reviews but still  Roll Eyes

Congrats all, not just to the winners, but to everyone who entered for putting together some great reviews. I know I certainly enjoyed reading and watching all of the various entries, and learning more about everything we can do with our Festools.

 Thanks
