Systainer CONTEST ! Guess The Contents
« on: August 03, 2012, 10:06 AM »
Just for fun and in celebration of the new Systainer board......  a little contest for a small prize.   [big grin]  Sponsored by me not Festool.  This is open to international entries except Quebec (sorry).

So here is the deal, guess the contents of the  Systainer  pictured in this post. If more than one entry is correct the winner will be determined by random drawing.  The prize is a Micro T-Loc with an additional swag surprise inside.

Here are the clues and info about the Systainer.

A). Classic Systainer - II
B). Anthracite with Signal Blue latches , and Light Gray handle.
C). The colors of the Systainer are relevent.
D). The contents is a tool and accessories.

The rules....

A). One guess entry per person. Multiple entries will be disqualified. So make it good.
B). Entries must be made by PM (Private Message system on FOG) to me (SRSemenza).
C). Name the brand and type of tool in your entry.
D). No amendments to entries will be accepted.
E). If an entry includes more than one brand or type of tool it will be disqualified.
F). Entries will be accepted until August 17,    2012 , Midnight EDT.
G). To be a considered a correct answer the entry must include the correct brand and type of tool.
H). Must be 18 or older to enter.
I). Festool and Tanos dealers, Festool and Tanos employees, employees of Festool and Tanos dealers, and FOG Moderators may not enter.

The prize will be shipped to the winner. I will pay shipping. If there are other fees, duties, tariffs, or costs for the winner to receive the prize, they must be paid by the winner. The winner may refuse the prize, and a new random winner from the correct entries will be drawn.

If there are no correct entries, there will not be a drawing and will not be a winner.

Have fun  [smile]

Seth, this should be fun.  I have an idea what the contents might be but I want to give it some more thought before committing.

Yes, Brice, should be fun.   [smile] If people want to speculate in this thread that is fine. Could be beneficial or detrimental to ones chance of winning.  I of course will not be commenting on any speculations.

You sir, have an unfair advantage.  I move that you and everyone else at the house party be disqualified (just like those poor sucker from Quebec).  [tongue] [big grin]

All of the stuff shown at the house party has been posted either here and or at talkFestool.

Those are--- Pneumatic Systainer
                     Bosch Rotary Hammer
                    Milwaukee Sawzall
                    Milwaukee 1/2" Drill
                    Light Kit
A couple units from my site kit

Not saying either way if the contents of the contest Sys are or are not a duplicate of something that has been shown.

In others words Eric, deducing backwards ( or forwards) may or may not help.  ???

I want to be clear on one of the clues...  the colors are relevant but not necessarily an exact match.

They might be very close or just in the same color realm. Not trying to throw anyones thinking here, I just don't want people thinking they match RAL color standards.

If I win, I'm going to have a contest to pass it along to the next guy who can guess the right answer.  Hopefully we can keep doing that and come full circle back to Seth.

I have received some entries.  [cool] Just a reminder note about the entry rules ......   To be  considered a correct answer brand and type of tool are required. A model number is not needed but it won't help or hurt your chances.

EX of entry......   "Milwaukee, reciprocating saw" would be the correct form for an entry guess. "Sawzall" would not.

Why is that ?

Milwaukee's  name for the saw is actually Sawzall its not generic. A Sawzall by definition is ONLY a Milwaukee and ONLY a reciprocating saw. Just like Kleenex is actually ONLY one particular brand of tissue. Anyone that say Sawzall for any old reciprocating saw is totally wrong  a Sawzall is an electric reciprocating saw made by Milwaukee Tools. Sawzall is even a legal trademark of the Milwaukee Electric Tool Company for their line of reciprocating saws.

Over the years the term Sawzall has become ubiquitous for any kind of reciprocating saw, Milwaukee-made or not, but it still does not make it correct.

I get your point, but technically your example is incorrect.  :) A better example would be that you can just say jigsaw or reciprocating saw.

For me a Sawzall will always and only be a Milwaukee reciprocating saw, because it simply is.

The one who says it can't be done should avoid interrupting the person doing it.

Nick's disqualified for being argumentative over a red tool that can't possibly fit in a Sys 2 without being dismantled into parts.  [tongue]

Nick,

I completely agree about the term Sawzall and it's usage and similarity to Kleenex, etc , etc.   I chose that as an example specifically to make a point. There is a reason that the entry guess needs to be in the form specified.  I don't want someone thinking they have submitted a correct answer only to find out that they have not because it is not in the correct and complete form. Submit  a complete guess in the contest entry form and you are good to go. I can't explain further now as it would be a give away.

Now as far as someone submitting an incorrect answer of Sawzall goes....... suffice to say that it is not a Milwaukee reciprocating saw or a Sawzall, the colors just don't work. And nobody has guessed either one.

Based on the systainer color I would lean toward a Bridge City tool however the prize couldn't be sent out for many many months...  [big grin]
