another milestone coming up
« on: March 28, 2018, 05:22 PM »
Where has all the time gone?  Turning the big six O in June.  Yikes!  With such a big milestone approaching, I got on the scale to see where I was weight wise and was I in for a surprise.  How did all that extra weight sneak up on me?  34#'s more than it should be.  So the LOML and I decided to get on Weightwatchers with their new points system.  I was skeptical at first but 4.5 weeks later I'm down over 14 pounds!  Woo hoo!  I found pants in the closet that miraculously stretched out and shirts where I don't have worry about hurting someone when a button would pop.  20 more to go which should happen by June.  It's really pretty easy to do, fellas, so all I got say is it works.  Interestingly enough, I had a physical about 2 weeks ago and my blood pressure, triglycerides, and cholesterol were all now in the normal range, what ever that is.  I'll be ready for the speedo by Summer... well... maybe not...  [eek]

Grats on your achievement. All it takes is determination and will. Two years ago I was 361 lbs, today I am under 253, went from pants size 50 to 38 :)

The life quality to gain is fantastic, even breathing is noticeable.

Keep going, Mario

   Howard,

Congratulations on hitting the big 60 and hitting that age/life related weight loss. I have almost 5 years on you and keeping the weight off is a challenge - when did food start looking so good? My sisters are on Weight Watchers and they have made some good weight loss's.

Kudos to you for your weight loss.  I'm with Bob in that I'm also 65, but I think it's not so much that food is so much more appealing as it is that the body just does not process it as well.  I spent 20+ years teaching soccer players to be athletic and work out regularly but man it is a lot of work for diminishing returns.  My day of eating most of a pizza and half a case of beer ended in my forties.   [sad]

Congrats on the weight loss @HowardH .. I know exactly how you feel and the commitment you had to make for the weight loss.  I hit the 60 mark this past September and was in the same boat.  I used my bad hip as an excuse .. but had that replaced in December, so no more excuses.  Feeling much better finally, so time to walk and bike ride the chub off.

Yes it does!   ;D  Got my eye on a C18 basic.  I have picked up two of the 18 volt batteries at the last two Roadshows and nothing to put them in.  BTW, since my original post, I'm down about 21 pounds.  I had to take over 20 pairs of pants to be taken in and about 10 pairs of shorts.  Thank goodness we can get free alterations at Nordstrom.  Only about 15 more to go.  Not sure those pants are going to stand being taken in again but we will see when that time comes.

Hey, hey there - I'm not 65 until August. ;)
Very true that as we get older our metabolism slows down - one of the reasons we pack it on easier and it gets harder to come off.

Well, considering all the reductions of size in clothing, you should use all that removed cloth and make something else to wear out of it.   [big grin]
