Title: Festool font?
Post by: Wertzy on March 15, 2011, 02:42 AM
I feel kind of lame for asking , but does anyone know the name of the font that the Festool logo is written in?  Am looking to make some decals for my tanos systainers and would like to use the font.  Appreciate any help you can give!

Wertzy,

I believe that the closest font is called Eurostile.

The nearest I can find would be "Eurostile Bold Extended #2":

[attachthumb=1]

It's not an exact match, as the Festool logo has all the square corners rounded off slightly.

Edit: I found that info here (http://new.myfonts.com/fonts/linotype/eurostile/) - just put "FESTOOL" in the 'sample text' box

They must have used the soft sanding block...

I came upon this post and looked up the Eurostile font that was recommended.  It appears to be $35 to buy the font, which is cheaper than most accessories.  But I wanted to share an option that I found in Google's open source fonts that appears to be just about as good, and it's free.

The font is called 'Orbitron' and I got the best match by setting the font weight to 'Black 900'.  Here's is a link to the font sample:
