Let's talk dogs.  I have two and MacGyver's first nap was in a systainer on a Festool green towel.  We don't have any Rockler stores here so he can't comment on how he feels about them.

Anyone else?

Right now, I have a 5.5-year-old, rescued, German Shepherd with an incredible prey drive and a ferocious bark that lets me know when someone visits unannounced.  That aside, he's a very sweet, loving best friend that just loves to hang out in the shop while I work.

Though I don't love the tool I always thought Kapex would be a good dog name.

8 year old yellow Lab. 121 lbs from really big English purebred parents!!!

Won't let any strange adult person into our house, if we're are not home. I've had friends drop by to pick up stuff with my permission while I'm not there and it didn't go well (no biting, just a lot of teeth, barking and growling).

But, when he is at the playground and a small child approaches (even babies) he sits down and let's them pet him and loves the attention, will drop his ball at their feet and when they throw the ball, he brings it back to do it all over again. If another dog approaches the child he will get very protective of the child and growl and chase the dog away.

We rescued a two-month old Terrier puppy (now she's five months old). The rest of the family always wanted a dog and I finally gave in on three conditions. One, I didn't have to walk her at 11pm at night, two, I didn't want a big barker, and three, I got to choose the name.

So now I spend more time with her than anyone else- including the late night walks- and she barks from time to time but at least I chose the name- Pepper.

I take her everywhere, have a list of dog-friendly cafes, and on Saturday we happened to be in Home Depot. I carried her around, but the staff were very friendly indeed.

Truth be told I wish I had got a dog a long time ago. They're great additions to the family.

MacGyver - Age 5 - British Golden / American Golden.  Truly Unbelievable.

Both spoiled rotten, bed sleepers, Festool Fanatics.

Beautiful dogs Peter.

Thank you Richard!

I have been blessed over the years.  I have had up to 4 at one time.  Thinking about getting a brother or sister for MacGyver.  But please don't tell my wife.  She has been begging for more than a year.

Sophie, our first Newfoundland, didn't know about Festool but she really did like going to the lumber yard and hardware store.
I know she would have appreciated Festools [smile]

Maggie, our current Newfie, definitely likes Festools and being in the workshop.
She even has her own Fog Hat!

I have taken my male Dogue's into Home Depot on several occasions. He has since past.  I would take my female but when she sees someone she starts running because she thinks they are there to give her attention.  They both weighed 140 lbs.

Don great looking DDB's!  The one on the couch has the same look as mine, but she only likes the couch in winter.  Unfortunately she was just diagnosed with hypothyroidism.

Peter

unfortunately, there isnt a Rockler store near me.  However, I have never taken my dogs into any stores.  My two dogs are farm dogs, never been on a leash in their life.  They are VERY well behaved, as I instill manners on all my dogs from a very early age.  They ride in the back of my truck on a daily basis though, and I love having them along for the ride.

As for the pups, all eight, as well as mom, are doing great so far.  They are almost 5 weeks old.  I have raised animals all my life (cattle, hogs, chickens, rabbits, goats, turkeys......), but this is my first litter of pups.  I have to say, they might be my favorite baby animal of all, and thats saying a lot if you've ever been around baby goats before.

I can't stand it when people take their dogs into stores.  Seems to me that not too long ago you couldn't do that unless it was a service dog.

Sorry, i don't want to be subjected to your dog when i am trying to buy some lumber or whatnot.
