He said Obama had the opportunity to stop and shake hands with soldiers and thank them for their services. He said Obama just walked right on by to go to his photo op. IMHO that's just wrong.

mr obamaha arrived in germany and quoted kennedy
"im a hamburger"
trying to mean im from hamburg
the problem is that in german the meaning is VERY SUBLTLY different
it means " i AM a hamburger"
ie
"im a mcdonald's pattie"
it just doesnt quite have the gravitas a potential american president needs

I would be more interested in meeting people at a FestoolFest than either McSame or O-blah-blah.
We need to revive Per's campaign! At least the White House could be remodeled.

it depends on the jurisdiction in america (as the films would have it) you just need two tables and four chairs for prosection and defence, set at the same level to each other (but below and equally in front of the judge) in england the accused is put "in the dock" he is below and either to the side of the judge, or behind the prosecution and defence lawyers but he is above the prosecution and defence (both whom are on the same level) and both equally in front of the judge one thing that is similar (at present) is that there is a jury

If you're suing a multinational company, the defence side needs only one table, but fifteen chairs for all the lawyers (barristers)!

Fellas, Fellas, Fellas,
I am talkin about the frame and panel construction on the walls of 100 center street seen in
every Law and Order episode since day one.
Now I can do that. And I can build a dang fine bench, along with a very pretty pew.
Might as well add in a confessional box too.
But I draw the line at chairs!

I know Bill, But even before I wrote that statement, I read this from snopesI then thought it was more appropriate to take this thread in a different direction, so no one would look silly or political. But hey, I can only do so much. Actually I do have a confession and a hobby. I am a amateur political scientist who is fascinated by the use of political operatives in the dissemination of propaganda on the internet. From here in the US to the ability off a bunch of freaks in caves to use the new media. There was a time when only Government had this power. That is no longer the case. "If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State." Joseph Goebbels. "A lie told often enough becomes truth" Vladimir Lenin. Per

Everyone, All right, I've never revealed my political leanings in this forum. Neither have I revealed my leanings when I have met forum members in private.
This thread has inspired me to reveal all and tell everyone where I stand both in the current election and politics in general.
Just kidding.
It's something I would love to do, as it would feel great for the moment as I'm typing it out. But in the end, it would be like a bad chlli dog at a carnival.
Nothing against chili, or dogs.
My name is Matthew, and I approve this message.

Does anybody know who owns "Army Times"? I ask this because of what Per quoted. Our media is not limited to the facts so it is very important to understand "who is saying what and why". C Hughes

Maybe the real lesson to be learned here is not to rush to repeat stories when unaware of the origin or any other facts.
It's in bad taste to quote any political statements on a forum dedicated to tools (there are more suitable places to do it).
To quote a blog with a heading implying a direct personal email message was the source is clearly irresponsible.

being in a tank is good product placement, for a military publication if they turned up in a nissan micra most people would question their "commitment to product"

I'm not sure that is the same e-mail I got but it did concern me that this could happen. Having close friends in the military, this was cause for concern. I have a great respect for our soldiers so I hope our future president has the same, no matter who it is. If this were about McCain I would feel the same way. This wasn't about the name, it was about respect. There are different offerings by both candidates that will create "change" one way or another. If anything, this has been an interesting campaign for both parties.

Woodenfish has my point. It appears that most of our free press is more interested Barry Obama's ordination than giving something as simple as the whole truth. I can not think of any other institution protected by the constitution and this is the product we receive in return. What Stalin stated about a lie was not a warning us, but bragging about his power over the people. We should always qualify what we are told be it by an anchor in the tank for a candidate or salesman with a wicked cool tool. C Hughes

All right, I do not have a horse in this race. And if you think in the long run there is a bit of difference in who the corporations decide to elect in this country, thats fine, delusional, but fine. But to come out and say the Senator McCain hasn't gotten and still gets a free ride is ludicrous. The Rights talking point, repeated adnauseam about the liberal media is truly a joke. This is John Mcain "The media darling" quoted in the Washington Post from here"Journalists love him, of course. His frankness flatters us, and he flatters us more directly as well. Visiting a big convention of journalists last fall, McCain joined a group that was gambling at the hotel casino until the wee hours. In his speech the next morning, he cleverly nailed his audience and himself by declaring that he was happy to be among "my base." So this is a tool forum, and I really shouldn't be doing this here, private Email perhaps? But really this stuff brings to mind a famous quote of Tom Hanks in the movie A league of their own. "There is no cryin in baseball honey, pull yer socks up." Per

Per, McCain got a pass when he was running against Conservatives now he is running against a liberal. Again, who when and why. These are the important questions. As to crying about anything in politics, thats a joke, our candidates were picked for us not by us. C Hughes

At least you didn't say Democrat party, so there is hope for you yet. Fixed it Michael! I like speaking about all kinds of tools less about the one under discussion. Obama is a tool for the media. He is their Messiah not mine. I have no room for more than one God in my life. The man has no qualifications, no experience and no new ideas. He achieved his quick rise to the top of political stardom running in a heavily Democratic liberal leaning State against some very weak Republican candidates. That said, I'm not a fan of the other guy either. But at least he is respectful of the country, experienced and able to speak for himself besides I'm used to holding my nose while voting for most politicians. In fairness to Obama, I don't believe that the military allows the use of its troops for political campaigning and photo-ops. With that, the true character of a man is not what he does when eyes are upon him but when nobody is looking. Where has he been? Hanging out with some of the foulest creme puffs in Chicago!
