And I'm not talking about my mental health.

It seems I have a reputation for mentioning a tool want, just in passing, then getting it for myself just prior to my wife's plans to get that same thing for me as a gift for a special occasion (birthday, fathers days, xmas, etc). Really, I don't expect people to buy things for me. They either don't know what I want, or can't afford it!

So this week I got notice.... no purchases allowed until Fathers day has passed. And this just days after my 48" woodpeckers rule stop arrived...  Big Grin

I'm at a loss for what I may have mentioned to her.... but I can only hope that I said something like "Kapex" or "MFT/3" in my sleep....

You're lucky, I mention/hint at things I want, and end up with things I don't want. Sad

If I had that problem I think would have to mention several tools and the Kapex would be on the top of the list for sure

Maybe a Festool necktie.  Or maybe Peter has been busy and secretly selling FOGties.

The trouble with Peter's FOGties...is they are ribbited....on..... say it out loud... and it will...  almost be a joke.

I had a similar run in with my wife two years ago for my birthday. Two weeks before my birthday she came up to me and told me off that I had just acquired the three first things off the list of things I had talked about wanting over the past year or so in the three previous weeks and that she was running out of ideas  Scared

Well, that was a looong three weeks to keep my credit cards locked away in my wallet and just drool at stuff, but she did get me a nice camera lens (Canon EF 70-200 f/4L IS USM) for my birthday so it was worth the wait Thumbs Up

It's time to start doodling ... KAPEX ... but make certain you also doodle 120 !!!

Invent a jingle you sing around the house ... BTW "The hills are alive with the sound of KAPEX" is considered over the top  Big Grin

Leaving brochures in semi-obvious places is also good.

A KAPEX screen saver can also be a good subliminal trigger!

My wife is very subtle ... her empty perfume bottles appear on my bedside table.

She is subtle.  Mine tells me point blank "Oh, looks like I'm getting low on Chanel, you're working downtown this week right...?"

Yea…. Learned my lesson when I put the Chanel No 5 “under” the note…that read…. “I agree we are low on channels (you really need work on your spelling) I upgraded the cable and got the NFL package… and was happy to hear by canceling all those Oprah and women channels it only added $30 a month.  Hope you like what is in the package.”

When I came out of the coma… I rethought my packaging for gift giving…. and note content...

Cheers,

FOLLOW UP:

Well, further discussions revealed that she didn't have a clue as to anything I wanted, but had been hoping I'd say something.

So a couple weeks ago we were installing the screen doors on our French Doors (Anderson), and at one point I had to get into a couple tight corners to install the screws, and the bosch impact driver just wasn't cutting =it.

So rather blatantly, I said "Boy, if I had the Festool CXS with right angle attachment this would have been a LOT easier!".

After the second time, she asked about the price.

Then that night, I circled it in the newly arrived Woodcraft catalog and put it between her two pillows on the bed.

Yesterday a box from Woodcraft arrived, but I'm not allowed to open it until Sunday....  Sad Big Grin
