I'm interested in how it fits for you and what all you can get in it. The Ford Transit Connect has 6" long x 44" wide x 53" area behind the front seat. rumor has it that they might make a 8" long back end one for 2012 that would really help with the US 4'x8' sheet goods. When i get it i'll put my gear in it and take some pics for you.
The transit connect is a small van though. The van I have bought is a vauxhall vivaro which is quite a bit bigger than the transit connect.
I currently have a van which is similar in size to the transit connect and its just not big enough.

Is it a new van. Curious what kind o deal you got on it. One of my friends just got a SWB Traffic sport 1 week ago.
Got my LWB Traffic 6 months ago. My first one was the SWB & i just found it a little bit small. I could get about 12 sheets in it from corner to corner & the door shut. The LWB is a huge difference. I am sure you will make it work for you as you are used to a smaller van.

The images that I have seen are not attractive in my opinion - reminds me of a duck bill glued onto a downsized van. The Dodge Sprinters are no more. I have an Astro van with 170 cu ft of space behind the seats, the Transit Connect is only 140. They Don't give the interior height. It is also rated to tow, which the Ford Transit Connect (USA) is not. As the review states this is a quick answer get some of the Ford Transit Connect (USA) market. I would not mind a full size van...but I want both sides to have sliding doors. You have to go to passenger vans for that. I would like to store the tools along the side and then be able to slide in vertically some sheet goods. The Ford Transit Connect (USA) seems to be better thought out as far as features. If I could change the Ford Transit Connect (USA) I would add quick release second row seats, make the cargo area 8' long and give it some tow capacity. Update: got the van yesterday, am really happy with it. It's gotnsome nice metal racking that fits my systainers. I'll putnsome pics up over this weekend.

I took a look at it.It's great,but not all good.It's just a mini-van without the back seats and windows. I would like to see the mini-van somewhat the same,but taller. |

This is NOT a political statement. I just personally would love to see more choices offered here by NA manufacturer's or if they choose not to - by someone else who will.

I like the Connect, too, but without 4x8 capacity it's worthless. I find the Caravan idea interesting- they must have stretched it a bit, because my wife's Town and Country is about 2" shy of being able to hold 4x8 sheets laying down (I've tried....lol). It's a great van otherwise, so I'd look at grabbing one if the price isn't nuts. |

So you props be seeing more of our vans aswell Jmb There's got to be a way to fit that Cobra 429 engine into that Fiesta! Great power and gas mileage. Then, just put a ladder rack on it and you have a great work vehicle. |

So you props be seeing more of our vans aswell Jmb I lived in Ireland for a year back in the 2000s and drove a Ford Focus over 18,000 miles and loved it. It had some power and a great suspension .... the US version was a dog the same model year. The US version had a marshmallow suspension the would not have stayed on a Irish highly crowned road. It seems that the US auto industry just wants to build vehicles that old people will not spill their coffee in and can run over things and not know they killed the neighbors Great Dane. The commercial vehicles in the US are very limited. IMHO Cheers, Steve |

Thanks for the post... I looked at the site and saw one image that looks like it has a second row drivers (US) side sliding door. I can't find on their website that this is really an option. Can you confirm or point me to a link that states/shows this. I really want 5 for 6 doors (if you could the back as two. I have in another career I worked with State and Fed DOT and we are nowseeing in Mn a movement from four lane urban to three lane, one of which is for parking. In some of Europe the parking lane in the the middle lane and you get vehicles pointed in both directions. Here we are exploring that parking is only on one side and if they allow bidirectional parking the vehicles need doors on both sides to allow curb side open is possiable however they have to park... Ken,
I have never sold a tool. I gave them away to charity in the contest thread back in the spring. I am in a metamorphosis stage whereas after this week I am working alone again, My helper L is leaving for CA until September - with my whole hearted blessing. He is one heck of a guy and this is an opportunity for him that I wish that I had.
The fuel costs in relationship to income are again getting really warped and I need to change my attitude from having everything available at anytime to what is reasonable. I love my Festools and systainers, but transporting 25+ systainers everyday and then tons of other stuff has to change.
Change is good. Until you find you left something at home that you needed.
