Huge snow storms, floods, earthquake, now a big hurricane with the possibility of spawning tornados for New England and... Steve Jobs leaving Apple!  I think the Mayans were telling us about the end of the world!

Steve Jobs is offering himself to calm down the gods!!!

There is never a situation where it can't be done with the right hand tool - even though it may be a lot more work.

Steve Jobs leaving Apple

I think he just got bored... Now he's Chairman of the Bored.

He was offered a better job at Google as legal liaison.

Not sure he would fit there, Google has this motto "Don't be evil".

Ooooooh, hitting poor Steve when he is down!!!   Big Grin

However, you are right Alex, the stories of his legendary jerkness are numerous. I can't believe for a second it is necessary to bring out the best in people. In fact, quite the opposite. The best work I have ever done came along with bosses who were patient and very supportive. They were/are so great, you simply want to do your best for them. THAT is leadership. Widespread fear of tantrums is not my idea of leadership. I think Apple being successful and innovative due to one man is a huge myth. Time will tell.
