Ok I don't know how many of you are interested in cars but being a fellow man I know this must peak your interest at some level. I just watched the most recent episode of Top Gear where James May tests the new Bugatti Veyron sport. Trust me, you don't want to miss this.

First of all I'm a Top Gear fan. Found their previous season rather boring to be honest but this is much better. That car is just ballistic. I mean you can see, not even its top speed but the way it takes off the line when they run it around the track. Just I also really like their bit on Ayrton Senna. That is what F1 is about. It's sad that it has "numbed" down since then. :/ Anyway that car is is insane. I also prefer its looks over the old version. After I've sold some blood and my kidney I think I might buy one.

Yes, but the Bugatti can also go round corners..... Stock Corvette ZR1 laps the N?rburgring in 7:26.4. Thats a straight line, right I'am not saying that the Bugatti Veyron is not a better car. There is no question the Veyron is better. The engineering in the car is phenomenal. But a $1.7 million dollars who can buy it. The Corvette is affordable. The most go for your dollar.

Corvette Z06 has a 0-60 of 3.6 seconds. Ariel Atom has a 0-60 of 2.9 and costs < $50,000. If you just want a fast car, that would be my ride. I don't like that Corvette are a dime a dozen. I would prefer something more unique.
Another cool ride is the Caterham Seven. 0-60 in 3.5 but it looks like a blast to drive.

You should have seen last weeks top gear they were showing the new Camaro and they said how its one of the first American cars that has used the suspension systems that we have had here for years. Apparently you still have the same suspension on your cars as they had on horse and carts in the old days .

If you want to see just how well made the Veyron is, go to National Geographic channel and find the show Ultimate Factories and watch the Bugatti Veyron show. It's amazing - and in HD. You'll know why it costs so much.

The one showing the factory for the Audi R8 was pretty cool too.

Ariel Atom is one of the coolest car made. Just the open air aspect of it is over the top. Talk about feeling the speed. Just imagen looking through the frame and seeing the asphalt scream by.

Greg, I heard a while back that they had opened a production facility at Virginia International Raceway. I'd love to hit the track in one of those things. I know VIR does events similar to that sometimes. I am going to try to do some karting on the track one of these times when I'm back in Virginia visiting family since the track isn't that far away. I'd really like to get into SCCA racing if I had the time and money to do it.

You can't do anything in cars like that but, get speeding tickets.
Give me a gas guzzling, jacked-up 4x4 any day over those car thingys. I will just drive over them.

Yeah, something like my pickup is much better for us woodworkers. Here's a little video of the wife and me coming home from the lumber store. http://streetfire.net/video/ford-f150-lightning-on-the-autobahn2min30sec_176.htmOkay, so that wasn't the wife and me, but that's the same model truck as I have. A much more practical ride, don't you think? And here's another video, just in case you think a truck doesn't handle well... http://streetfire.net/video/gt4-ford-svt-f150-lightning-at-nurburgring_440093.htm As you can see, I hate to be late for dinner...

Well, the truck in that second video does corner much better than mine. Heh, heh... I looked again, and you are correct in that being from a video game. Guess I won't be calling the auto supply store to check out suspension mods in the morning. Even still, the real SVT Lightnings are fun pickups. And they'll carry a lot more wood than a Bugatti. Here's a picture of mine......

And they'll carry a lot more wood than a Bugatti. Maybe so but get that Veyron close enough to your wood at 267mph and you could have the worlds fastest and most expensive thickness planer

Here is the "Top Gear" BBC review of the Z06 Corvette. He did not like it for every day driving but on the track is was a killer ride. Scored time better then the Ferrari 130, the Zonda and the Lamborghini Murcielago on a road track. So i guess it can turn a corner
