Just thought I'd throw this out there.....

Went to Van Halen concert a couple nights ago. Been a fan for .... wow , about 30 years, but had never seen them live.  Great  show!

DLR's voice isn't all it was, but the showman is  still in him.  Wolfgang is fine on bass.  Alex can still tear it up. And Eddie..... well...... I sure can't tell if he has lost any capability  Big Grin

i'm really excited about the new record.  All songs are great except the single.  Looking forward to the DC show in a few weeks.

I got mad at a ref once for dropping the puck before the Eruption solo finished.  Should have put him in the box for misconduct.

I saw Van Hagar long ago and it was a great show, much better than I expected since I wasn't much of a Sammy Hagar fan.

I didn't know about the new CD; have to go give it a listen.

For the guitar lovers, give Marty Friedman a listen; "Music for Speeding" is aptly named.

My daughter is a school teacher and Wolfie was in one of her classes. She says he was a nice kid.

There was usually a stir when Eddie picked Wolfie up from school, but I was always more interested seeing his mother.  Big Grin

I was glad the new album was so good after how bad the last studio album was.

Eddie kills most things with Eruption.

The  solo was extended Eruption with Cathedral in the middle and  some additional stuff too.   Wiped sweat  off his brow with his elbow while playing without skipping a note  Eek!

The whole show was just soooooo satisfying.

See and I was always more of a Hagar Fan.   He used to come here about once a year and put on a fantastic show.  Haven't seem him in a few...  He would usually have Michael Anthony as a guest with him.  The one thing about Sammy during his concerts at least, is that he's the most down to earth, wanna have some fun with the audience kinda guy.  I've never seen anyone go around the crowd and sign so many autographs as that man does during his shows.  Very playful

Yeah, Chris, he was a fantastic performer.  He had a short solo set in the middle that was pretty good.  They are two different bands: Van Halen and Van Hagar... lyrically, melodically, and probably in performance (never saw a Diamond Dave-fronted concert).

Announced their arrival on stage from the wings in the dark with the first heavy cords of You Really Got Me.

See it if you can, never know if another reunion tour will ever happen again.

Speaking of David Lee Roth (solo) songs. They didn't / aren't doing any in this tours set. No Van Hagar either. Just a few bars of Ladies Night In Buffalo during an interlude, and only because the  show  was in Buffalo.

Just heard the rest of the tour has been cancelled for some reason. Looks like I got lucky getting to one of the early tour dates.

Last I heard Van Halen didn't like DLR.  Good to see they got over it.

All you Eddie fans out there, do your self a favor and check out the version of "Unchained" with isolated guitar track on Youtube. Discriminationg ears can even hear him rushing it a bit as he breaks from solo back into rythym.
Van Halen "Unchained" Isolated Guitar Track
Also one of this one with Alex only.
