Last time I was there was in 2006. We stayed in a unit at the Sheraton Vistana Resort, 8800 Vistana Centre Drive. It was about a 5 minute drive to Disney. It had two bedroom with separate baths. One was a king bed, two doubles in the other and a full kitchen. They had about 8-10 pools on premises. It was convenient to everything. And the best part was that we paid about $150/night as I recall on the second week of June, the same or less than most hotels. With the full kitchen, we hit a grocery store the first day and stocked up and ate most meals there instead of eating out, which saved money. I thought it was a good deal, it was clean, the people were friendly and the rates were great. Regarding the Quality Inn, they are generally good hotels. I don't know about that specific one. Hope that helps.

I can't offer any advice on that hotel but I'm going to florida in June this year. We've decided to stay In A hotel that's recently been taken over by virgin. The reviews look very good. When are you going. Where Did you stay last year?

We stayed on Disney Xmas 2010 at the port Orleans riverside. Mega bucks lol.
This time we will be just doing universal and beach visits things like that . Booking through virgin park tickets are £430 for unversal and wet n wild for 2 weeks for 4 of us. We were thinking Busch gardens too but then you have to pay £800 for flex tickets.

One of our members mentioned this link on another forum. He has used this service in the past and seems satisfied. You guys might want to check it out. http://www.vrbo.com/Peter

The tools in my truck were talking the other day. The Dewalts, PC's, Boschs, Makitas were not happy. They also were in the minority. Their complaint: They felt unused and unappreciated since the Festools moved in. I guess the truth hurts.

+1 for Vacation Rentals by Owner.
We rented a big house, with kitchen, laundry, pool for less than it cost us to stay at a Disney property the year before.
It is nice at the end of the day just to park in a driveway 20 feet from your door instead of walking a half mile from the parking lot.

Yeah we rented a house in Myrtle Beach last summer through VRBO and it was a good deal. I should have thought to mention that as well. Good call, P.

Now we have spotted this one which looks much better. Its got great honest looking reviews , a bit further from Universal but we were in Disney last time and drove to Universal etc all the time so not bothered about that. If my memory serves me well the area where this hotel is Apopka is pretty nice. http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Hotel_Review-g34515-d223705-Reviews-or10-Hawthorn_Suites_Lake_Buena_Vista-Orlando_Florida.html#REVIEWSMy wife phoned up to book the holiday earlier but at the original hotel, got some grumpy cow on the phone (Virgin) told none of the December holidays are in the sale and started adding money on to things like the car hire . Apparently last time we went all the extra bits like collision insurance etc were included now they're not so that alone is another £270

Orlando and Disney are nice and all, but if you ever feel compelled to vacation in a real place, consider Rincón, Puerto Rico. Many europeans have been coming by of late...

We stayed in the Quality Suites back in 2005, never again, it might be better now because i know a lot of hotels have changed hands over the last couple years, but it was dirty when we stayed, food was crap, kids got fungal infections.
I think the I drive area now looks pretty tired, we have been 7 times over the last 12 years.
Last June we stayed in the Fountains, its on I Drive, but down past Seaworld, it was good in there, can recommend it.
