Is this whole image your shop? What are the proposed dimensions?

The tools in my truck were talking the other day. The Dewalts, PC's, Boschs, Makitas were not happy. They also were in the minority. Their complaint: They felt unused and unappreciated since the Festools moved in. I guess the truth hurts.

Sorry I did not reply sooner I was doing the inside. No only the down stairs part is my work shop. The upstairs is going to have pool and snooker table and a bar and the back piece is going to have a endless pool. Its going to be about 5meter wide smallest width the bottom bit is 14 meters wide and the entire length is 24 meters I have done inside sketch up! first one I did wrong as you can see the door is in the wrong place! I changed it but when I came to render it my render had expired!! So I used this other free render but as you can see its not as good! any one got any ideas how I should do the lay out I can just did it quick!

It's not about lowering the quality of your work.
It would come down to having to leave things out to change the scope of the work.
Never lower your labor, overhead and profit price, change the work scope to meet a number.

compressor and extractor I hope. With double studding I know the sketchup dont show it but will be. I will do pictures during the build! Before during and after! See if it will look similar to my sketchup all depends on money!! Trying to build it all my self! If I can!! JMB

Like I said unfortunately my free trail nxtRender ran out on sketchup I found IDX Renditioner which is completely free but its rubbish it does not render the colour nice and you can only render 640x480 unless you upgrade. I found this FKerkythea Rendering which is completely free. You cant render on sketchup its self though you have to export it but its free! Also you can render much larger images and are better quality. Wondering what other use as free rendering and what is it like. This one has been rendered at 1200x600 I have upscaled this image on this one so its the same size like I said this IDX only does 640x480 but both these images are now 1200x600

Yes but speaking to him on the phone he is very particular! He sent me the drawing and a schedule. It had everything seperated! I dont think he wants to leave things. Example Fit stairs ground to first floor: fit mule post £ fit hand rail £ fit spindles £ Then First floor: fit mule post to ground floor stairs £ hand rail £ spindles £ fit half mule post £ fit nosing £ fit fascia. £ Thats just the one flight of stairs. He had it like that on a spread sheet format wanted a price for every bit! Well I bundled it up and gave one price for them stairs. He done that for the entire job I dont know why he split everything up like that I could clearly see on the drawing how and what the stairs where like Apparently the other joiners A. Priced his first and second fix and B. Priced his on every floor (3 floors) he said he preferred mine as I priced mine similar to how he wanted but I put the in bundles Stairs, Doors, Skirt etc. "mule post" is that what he ties his Donkey to you dont think he means NEWEL POST

Yeah a while ago 2010 says on my first post. Was going to build it then but I had my house to do and I ended up getting work and left it. but now my Misses wants to get Married and live together and will likely want a kid not long after! I am thinking I gotta do it now! or it will never be done and ill be stuck and all my money will be going else where! So im quickly spending it all before she gets her hands on it basically haaahaa! only joking! but I am trying to expand cus cant keep up with the work and I want to employ some one and expand, at the moment I am little scared to do this but with a decent workshop I will be more confident in employing someone one as ill have two types of work I can do Site work AND workshop work being able to do both I should have more work available to justify employing some one. Got CNC coming and hope that will help aswell as being like a second part of the workshop type of work. JMB

JMB congrate jmb . a ring on the finger soon. definetly get the shop done soon then. make sure you insulate the heck out of the floor or you will have to hear the likes of rylan singing every saturday night. id love a cnc in the shop. it is amazing what you can do with one. is it a 3 axis or more, matrix table or pods, what program does it use. whats up with the 45 degree undergound part with the walls returned in. are they storage for sheets or cabinets

For sound proofing use GreenGlue. Great for stopping the low frequency noises. The green Glue web site has a lot of good how too information Green Glue WebsiteThe only thing better is decoupling.

Down stairs in the workshop depending if I can still hear the noise I will do a suspended ceiling filled with insulation and batten the walls and ply-line it all and insulation . I think that should cover the sound traveling upstairs. The work shop is not having any windows only 2 doors back door and the garage doors you can see at the front. The 45 thing in the first picture I did was just an idea to use the awkward corner to store sheets but not sure what do do now it was that long ago. I am not going to plan my workshop out un till its built so I can see what space I have as its difficult to get an idea of what I have available to me. ITs only a 3 axis flat bed CNC. Well I know I am defiantly creating a complete separate room to store the CNC and pump because I went up scotland this Saturday gone to have a look at the CNC Im getting and its very loud!! and if I got that thing running all the time it would do my head in so it would have to be sound proofed in its own room. Off course had planning for the building when I started this thread a while ago but just recently applied to have the upstairs changed to living accommodation privately which has been passed. JMB

Well my TOP 6 machinery I want first are Thicknesser (separate) Surface planer (separate) Band Saw Spindle Moulder Extractor CNC Then ill be looking at other stuff later on see how cash flow is like at the time. Cus I gotta be spending on making benches and draws shelving/racking electric wiring etc which can easily cost a lot of money JMB
