Groovin' Baby!
« on: March 31, 2018, 07:04 AM »
This is the second article in a series I am doing on the Veritas Combination Plane. This is more about using this plane - and others like it - than a formal review. This article is about ploughing grooves, which were the main feature of this box

The article is here:

Have a happy Easter and Pesach!

Regards from Perth

Derek

Thank you again, Derek, for the inspiration to use this plane. The beading looks great, too, even though you said you were focusing on the grooving. The beading was done before the wood was cut into pieces, I assume? It really does add something wonderful to a simple box. Even though I (guilt, guilt) ordered my box from Veritas, when it comes in I will likely do a little beading to personalize it.

Greetings from Los Angeles!

I want that combo plane to use for a little job coming up. The quality it gives seems very high, and nicer to use where noise is a problem.

Thanks alot for your helpful advice here on the handtools subforum!
