I know, I know .. frustration for me is that most people don't realise that "ium" is the suffix for metallic elements.

(also, for what it's worth, I got close to smashing the stupid Mac I'm typing on because of the retarded auto-correct while responding to this) [mad] [mad] [mad] [mad] [mad]

@Kev Change your country to Au or UK and the spelling will "sort its self out".

@Holmz no .. the issue is a little more subtle than that ... changes things like "ium" to "mum" and the like. Plus I use a lot of short forms and technical jargon that often gets turned into bizarre stories about cats! (sorta)

It's all quite complicated and both are correct. We don't say platinium for example.
