Yet More Wera + self-made storage
« on: November 24, 2018, 06:51 PM »
Some time ago I started picking up Wera items - just some small things like some of the bits, a bit handle, and the Kraftform Kompakt 25. (I also picked up the Wiha micro bit set but that's for a different post) I liked them a bunch. One day I noticed a new Wera set that I could not find and it turned out that it was last year's Advent Calendar.

I ended up getting this year's Wera Advent Calendar and then I scored a couple of deal's on eBay for the premium 3/8" Zyklop set and a 1/4" ratchet set in a cloth pouch. All metric...I gave away my old Craftsman compact set to son #1(one of the last ones made in USA). I then considered what to do about my lack of SAE sockets and I ended up choosing piecing together an SAE set over buying one of the 3/8" lever ratchet sets. More on this in a moment. The deals I got almost seemed too good to be true but they were legit - you just have to look hard.

Some things I like about these sets are the compactness of them. I found myself grabbing the KK25 vs a few screwdrivers because it was small and compact but allow me to bring what I needed quickly. So I ended up getting more...

The ratchet sets offer a few things:
- compactness
- organization - this turned out to be a big selling point for me.

Here's the advent calendar:

the small 1/4" lever Ratchet set - it's amazing how compact this is and how it folds up so well

Here's the 3/8" premium set

Here's what I made -

I'm pleased with it but I spent *alot* of effort, time, and money on that and I question how much I put in to it. I did try Kaizen foam but I just don't like it for small items like what is in this.

[emoji33] You unpacked this year‘s Advent calendar completely before 24th of December?! [emoji33]

Nice collection you have going on there!
I can assure you, it will only grow in time. :)
