iphone template anyone?

I was thinking about making a case for my iPhone. Anyone made one already and would be willing to share the template? If not, my plan is to trace around the phone with an offset for the guide and experiment until I get the dimensions right. I know this would be much more precise and accurate with a CNC or laser cutter but I'm fine with some slack given that this is handcrafted. It would look nice in walnut.
I tried and failed by just drawing the line and trying to trace it using the 1400. I think I'll be better off making a template guide first with the appropriate offset to take the guessing and unevenness that comes from trying to freehand it with that big a router. It's also very hard to see while routing using the 1400. Has anyone developed a good technique for increasing visibility in the routing area? I thought maybe I can improve that with a small LED velcroed to the set of the unit.
