Scared

I wanted to browse to his (your, if you're reading this Brice) website to check something and it is nowhere to be found.

Did I miss something?

Mauri Motti

You should send him an email.  I saw read a post from him on June 10, 2012.  He could have had a problem with his domain or the web host.  These internet providers are horrible.  Just go to his profile and select email or send a private message.

A member here asked me about this a while back.  I talked with Brice a few weeks ago.  He told me that he had not had time to update his website in a long time and thank fully he was too busy ( Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Thumbs Up between income producing work and work on a house he purchased to do so.  He decided to let his domain lapse.

He did let me know that most of the content from his defunct site is posted here.

Brice is fine.

I have spent hours with Brice away from the forum.  Fine does not come close to describing him. He is better than fine!

As Peter posted about I let the site go since I really didn't have much time to keep it updated with quality content.  I felt since a good deal of the content was already here on the FOG no one would really miss my site.  For the first few weeks that site was off the net I didn't hear anything, more recently, I've gotten numerous emails about the old site and requests for copies of some of the articles.  So, I decided I'll get the content back out there, this time in a blog format.  That way I can post the old articles one or two at a time as my time allows.

Can Armor All be used as sunscreen?

And here's a vote to get your page on the jack miters back up. I liked it better than Gary's method.

LOL.  Call it what you will, but Brice rocks and has rocked for us here for a long time.  To meet him in person and get quality time and get further into his mind away from the electrons of the internet is a treat if you ever get the chance.

Actually there are a few of you guys that amaze me.  I'm a person of few words and for me to do a blog would take ALL of my time.  Peter, Brice, Paul Marcel & others never cease to amaze the amount of good content posted -- and it's mostly free gratis with other full time day jobs.   Eek!

Brice

I had an email from one Ken Nagrod offering a rental library of Brice Burrell reviews on tape, narrated by Peter Halle, and featuring limited edition "no longer available" classics. Is this like how Disney re-releases their stuff or what? I had been waiting for what seemed eternity for you to finish the RO90 review when the site closed.

Brice,
Could you please share what router bit (type like CMT 7 degree trimming bit or the one with bearing on) did you use with this setup? Just curious.

Scott, I do hope to post the RO90 review on the blog soon and I'll add my experience with it over the last year.

Danny, you can use pretty much any bit you want.  That said, I'll usually grab a bottom bearing straight bit.

Cool, Brice. Thanks for sharing. I think you will find a blog platform to be much easier to update, share and interact with your readers. Its nice to know, after all the hard work of writing the content, that people are reading. This thread pretty clearly shows that people are reading and value your thoughts.

I just noticed today that someone snatched up the Burrell Custom Carpentry domain.  I'm guessing it's Paul and he'll be stealing steering all my old traffic to Half Inch Shy. Tongue Out Big Grin Big Grin

Hey Paul, you'll be glad to see a hand tool on my blog today, the butt mortise plane. Thumbs Up

That sucks. I think you had some "brand equity" in that name.
I don't know what kind of traffic you had, but it looks like a "domainer" (buy domains and place paid links on them) is sitting on it because of fthe residual traffic.
If you can try to get it back from them.
I can try some of my contacts and see if they can tell me who has it and what the likely hood of them selling it to you are if you want.
Some "domainers" are quite intractable and difficult (unmotivated sellers) to deal with, but as traffic falls off (12-18months?), they might sell back to you.
Email me if you want me to inquire after the name.
