Hi From Glasgow, UK
« on: July 27, 2017, 07:08 AM »
Hi All,

I am a technician in a college in Glasgow. I am responsible for tool purchases, and, when my manager came to me and said "we have some money needing spent", I thought, "mmmm, what can we buy?" So, a DF 500 Q-Plus somehow appeared on the list!
It just arrived, and I can't wait to give it a test. I bought an assortment of dominoes also, so no stopping me!

Anyway, just thought I would introduce myself, and I look forward to participating where I can!

Cheers,

Garry

Welcome to the forum Garry, sounds like you have. A great job.
Enjoy using the domino. Make sure you have plenty of scrap wood to practice on because even when you have been using one for a while it's so easy to stuff up as you can easily forget to readjust the depth or height when your immersed in a project. Don't ask me how I know this!

Welcome!  What are you planning on doing with the Domino, aside from shaping impressionable young minds?

Thanks all for the welcomes!

Regarding what I want to do with the DF500, I intend to start of with some simple projects, such as a nest of tables. I also have some cabinet doors to make. I will do lots of tests on scrap first. I can already see that a VAC is absolutely necessary, so the first thing I need to do is make some sort of adapter for the Metabo vacs we have here.

Thanks again,

Garry
