I just wanted to share this with everyone. This is an article the local paper did on my 12 year old son, and his wood turning. Thank you.
He just bought himself a new lathe ($1400.00) so he can start on pepper mills and bowls. He wanted me to call Christian to ask if you guys would make a Lathe soon. He keeps all his tools and accessories that fit in systainers. I have the boy hooked already.

That's awesome. Mine is into music so He's always in his room on his keyboard and computer mixes. I wish he'd come out with me and learn some trades like woodworking as well. He says's he doesn't need to know how to work on cars, etc. cause he'll just pay someone to do it. hmmmm.. Congrat's on the boy's business and turning skills. Glad to see those glasses on him, maybe even a face shield. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Paul, You and your son can both be justly proud. It is great to see what kids this age can accomplish if simply given the opportunity, motivation and encouragement. You might recall the thread a while back lamenting the demise of middle school and high school wood working programs. As part of that thread I talked about the generosity of some of our forum members and others who helped make possible the purchase by a non-profit Guild of now more than $10,000 in state of the art stationary and Festool hand power tools which the Guild placed into our local middle school wood working program for as long as that program remains viable. What is interesting with respect to your son's accomplishment is that once these kids got their hands on quality hard woods and suitable tools they started doing all kinds of neat things. Pen making is one of their favorites! So, please pass on to your son my very best and my admiration for his initiative and stick-to-itness. I can't wait to see what great things that attitude will do for the world as he matures. Jerry I just wanted to share this with everyone.
