Hello all Foggers!  Let me introduce myself.  I'm Ken and I've been a guest on here for too long, so I finally decided to register.  I own a construction business, I'm a union carpenter and cabinetmaker as well.  Been doing this since 1999.  I'm also a tool addict, but I only buy what I need and use, so it's a controllable addiction you could say.  Besides having many types of power tools, I also collect antique hand tools, especially saws.  I definitely love my Festools.  I usually have plenty to say and a lot of advice to give, but I'm not always on the internet, especially not on a regular basis.  I welcome everyone's opinions and advice, from novice to expert.  I'll never stop learning.  Well, that's all folks!  Now on to contributing!

Ken, I will echo everyone... welcome to our forum.  Big Grin  We look forward to hearing more from you.

Antique hand tools are cool.  I still remember watching Roy Underhill busting knuckles and inevitably cutting himself every weekend when I was a kid.

Ken,

Welcome and congrats on coming over to the Green side and the FOG side!  I look forward to seeing your future posts.  I am going to move this thread to a better spot so that members can find it better when they are looking to learn about members.

The tools in my truck were talking the other day.  The Dewalts, PC's, Boschs, Makitas were not happy.  They also were in the minority.  Their complaint:  They felt unused and unappreciated since the Festools moved in.  I guess the truth hurts.

Welcome Ken

Tell jokes if you want, Kreg isn't very good at it anyway  Poke

You like hand tools eh, i just got a "Ray Iles A5 coffin shaped smoother" for my birthday.  It is a replica of the old Norris planes.  Steel with Rosewood infill.  By far the nicest plane i own  Big Grin

The only nicer one i have held is "Karl Holteys" but way out of my budget.

Thank you everyone!

Woodguy, I can definitely appreciate those hand planes!  Unfortunately my collection of planes doesn't match in size to my collection of saws.  Right now I have an antique English fore plane from circa 1880 and new Lie Nielsens.  Eventually that'll build up too.  Antique hammers have been difficult for me to find for some reason.
