Hi, I'm MiterMaster, real name Mike McDermott. For several years I have run my own trim carpentry company. My main focus was on interior trim, baseboard, casing, crown, basically any type of trim work found on the inside of your home, I covered it.

However, for the past year, I've been phasing out of the business as I had an incredible opportunity to become a full-time, stay-at-home parent, raising my 2 kids. This is a huge change in responsibility, but I'm really enjoying now being able to be a full-time, hands on parent.

I've been married for 10 years and have 2 wonderful kids and a yellow lab. I enjoy outdoor activities such as camping, hiking, kayaking and such, but my real passion is wood-working.

Since my main focus was only on trim, I look forward to learning new things and ideas from other, more diverse members. I'm also a member of the TalkFestool community, as well as the JLC forum, all with the same "MiterMaster" user id.

Ditto on the welcome. It is nice to see the person behind the screen name. One sugestion tho, you say: "...I've been married for 10 years and have 2 wonderful kids and a yellow lab..." you might want to include wife also. I know that was unstated but very useful when you want more green for green.

Welcome Mike, Great looking family. I would love to be able to stay home and raise my four kids. I watch my 3 y.o. during the day, and work all night, so I feel limited on the activities I can do with her, and the rest of the family too.
