Just about finished this one just have to make the doors. I used mainly festools again along with my MFK700 to trim out the Formica. it worked great.
this customer suggested a formica top due to they wanted to use it as a desk also, so I did formica. Formica is pretty easy to do your self just cut to size plus 4-5" over hang.. then brush on glue to both pieces... let dry for 10-15 minutes... no the most critical part the 2 pieces cannot touch until it is in place as it will stick and cannot be moved.
So as I was taught when I was 9 yrs old by my uncle is to take either dowels, sticks of wood (at the time he used old blinds strips) and lay them on top and spaced about 4-6" apart all the way across the top. then lay the formica on top of the sticks and get it lined up where you want it then start pulling out sticks and use a roller to mash together and done deal.... except for trimming out the edge. I used my MFK700 with the laminate trimming blade and it put a nice edge on it
I then take oak for the front, which I like better then adding another piece of laminate... customer loved it !

The Counter top adds some warmth. Maybe Brushed Bronze hinges and handles with Brushed Bronze and Oak to match with the top.
A other very nice built in.

Kreg,
I have been admiring your work to the point that I am now doing a built in at home. Your beadboard looks wider than what I have seen in the stores. Seems like the standard is 1 1/4" wide from bead to bead. Is yours the same or is it wider? If it is wider, where do you buy it? Thanks.

The bead board is 1 1/2. Center to center and I get it at home depot. Or lowes carries it. Don't get it confused with the wood panels. This is 3/16 mdf true bead.

Hi, really like the work you have done on those units. how did you work out the spacing on the shelves? Did you chat with the client and work out where they wanted to put things? The wood face to the formica is a nice touch.
How did you finish the units? Did you spray them?
cant wait to see them with doors!

Hey thanks the shelves are adjustable. I just put um in where I want and then they cn adjust them , most don't

Update - Found it. Needed to look in the paneling section rather than the lumber section.
