I'm a DIY'er, but everyone at work knows that I'm at least a little knowledgeable about woodworking. So, when the guy in charge of our trade show booths decided he wanted to cut some rectangular insert holes in plexiglass but had no idea how to do it, the question eventually made it to me. By the time the question got to me, he had tried using a Dewalt laminate router with an OLD Bosch bit (horrible FAIL) as well as using a jigsaw freehand. He was able to cut the hole with the jigsaw, albeit horrendous looking. He didn't believe me that a decent router with good bits could cut plexi, so as a challenge I took a piece home and using my trusty OF1400, guide rail, and CMT bits, I knocked out a nice smooth edged insert hole. I even rounded one of the edges over as an example. He about fell out of his chair when he saw what I had done.
So, he has 4 different size holes and need 9 insert holes cut total. If he's going to pay me to do it, I'd like to use the proceeds to subsidize a MFS700 purchase
So, what would be a reasonable price for me to offer to do this little job for?
