Every once in a while I have to install a lock on a cabinet door, so I bust out the domino for a quicker, more professional install.

As you've discovered and Paul Marcel points out often the Domino(s) are very versatile for any number of little jobs, not just mortises for floating tenons. Very handy time savers indeed! EDIT: It could be our imaginations but it seems like we really can smell your avatar. |

I have done something similar to that.I mortise the side of the stile with my domino.Worked out great.

Jon Actually no. I figured out how to do it long before I bought Ron's Domiplate. I set the fence height at 28 mm. I wrote down my setting on a piece of tape, and stuck it to the inside of the Domino systainer lid.  Edit to add: I checked my setting, after originally recalling perhaps 20 mm, but it was actually 28 mm. I edited the post to reflect the correct setting. (Realize that the 28 mm setting refers to nominal stock width, so the actual dimension to the center of the slot is 14 mm from the top edge.) Hope that helps. |
