First, my father has been the hospital for over a month and he finally got to go home. Second, my daughter is graduating with honors from high school tonight, and third My vessel Monsoon, was just published in American Woodworker magazine in the April/May issue. The bad news is, there out of issues and I haven't seen it and can't find an issue anywhere. It's on page 50 from what I've been told. What a great day. Thanks God. I'll find an issue some how.

Go Bill, go! It's nice when the stars align - years of work and effort culminating at the same time. Here's to ego boosts, and your well-earned recognition. Kudos.

Thanks very, very much. What they wrote is on their own but fairly accurate. I used to be a framer, now I own Audio 2000 a car stereo shop where I've built dozens of woofer boxes, consoles and custom doors. Now I've added selling dune buggies and my wood work. I try to sleep at least 3 nights a week too. I really appreceiate you posting the article, thanks again. Tried the lotto....not quite that lucky.

This is a great magazine also, first time I read it. Now all I want to do is lay in a hammock, wearin' my wooden cowboy hat, and read up on Bill's great project.

At the last Art exhibit it was priced at $6500.00. It can now be acquired for a mere $4000.00 . I will rarely build a piece this complex unless I'm commissioned to do so. This being the 15th piece I ever turned and the first piece I ever attempted at this level of complexity, it should make it go up in value over time. At least I hope so. This vessel put me through an education like no school has ever offered.

That would be great. It's hard for me to do art shows because of my other business'. I'd much rather build pieces when I can and have them in a gallery. I doubt I'm going to make a living at this any time soon, but it sure is fun and satisfying. I look at it this way, If I don't sell something......it looks great in my house. I'm actually starting another very complicated one right now. It'll probably be done in the fall some time.

The first show I did was a Thunderbird Artists show in Carefree AZ. The day before the show the stock market dropped 300 points. That didn't help. I did sell 2 pieces and another when I got back. By the time I paid for pro panels, display tables, an EZ-Up and admission, I'm lucky if I broke even. I did have a great time though. For me that was ok but for other artists that do it for a living, it was a rough weekend. That show is one of the top 10 in the USA from what I was told, so for the others my heart goes out to them. There was some major talent there. So I agree, in a gallery you have your work displayed for more time and you don't have to tend to it.
