Spent the weekend knocking out a little organization assistance. Got real tired of always needing the tool or accessory that was on the bottom of the pile. Idea "borrowed" from a couple I saw on FOG. Thanks Costs: $65 for drawer slides, 1 1/2 sheets of Borg hardwood ply @ $42 per sheet, left over gray paint $0 and $6 for "sample" size BM "sweet pea" green paint. Tools Used, TS55, MFT/3, Domino (with Seneca Woodworking plywood attachment.. thanks) CXS, RO90, CT26E, and Kapex KS120.  |

Thanks for the color name!
Bob, I didnt make them adjustable on this one, I still have another to build under my drill press table for the CXS, C-15 and installer kit.. that should finish me for a good long while.. The 1400 router systainer fits perfect under my table and the TS55 systainer lives under the MFT/3. I can't take credit for the color name, I got this somewhere on the FOG as I was lurking.. sorry I can't give credit to the individual but I can't remember who it was Thanks for looking! |

For others wondering: The paint is "Sweet Pea" color.
The woman at the Sherwin Williams store looked at me weird when I asked for the sample to be mixed "you realize what color that is right?" I told her , yes it is the color of the Kool-Aid I am addicted to... She then looked at me even weirder...  |

Just a note: Sherwin Williams "sample" size paints are not the same mixture as regular paint and there is a disclaimer on the little jugs stating that they are for "color comparison only". I noticed the paint consistency to be much thinner in these sample sizes.

Whats the spacing between systainers, looks like none. I ask bc Im gonna start building an MFT cart and was gonna do like an inch in between, but wonder if its necessary? Hows yours working out with that spacing? Eric

If you have the space then it's good to leave enough room so you can close the drawers with the T loc handle in open position, my workbench was that way before i re cramped the drawers to make room for an extra drawer. but i's a little less handy now that i have to close the knob each time i close the drawer..

I just pull off the green t-loc knob. |

The pic is taken on a downward angle.. there is actually a little space, about 1/2 an inch which I find is plenty.. Not so sure about leaving room for the T-loc, I tend to close the lid and slide the lock back in one motion and I think it looks better this way. The hinges are 1 3/4 tall so I just made 2 spacers, one at 4 1/4 for the sys2 and 6 1/4 for the sys3... started by mounting the first hinge on the bottom and just used the spacers to go up from there. I like the height for being able to work on the RC Cars for me and my son, perfect standing working height. |

I have a few questions though. Where did you get all those drawer glides from for $65. Can you post a pic of the drawers ukled out.

TimTool, you bring up a great point about clearance when the T locks are in the open position. GPowers says he takes off the T handles.
I was thinking about buildings some "ports"... and the systainers changed... and put the project on hold.
I really like the T systainers in a stack as I can pop them open with the turn of one T.
In the shop... I like the Classic systainers in ports as they don't take up more stack height than needed.
Really comes down to how you work...

The drawer slides are from Amazon, search for "KV Economical Full Extension Drawer Slide 16" 100lb Load Rating" I paid the $5.94 and with a 10% coupon. They are fine for this purpose, I would not use them for anything other than shop drawers however. |

The shelves are assembled with left over scrap from the sides. Would be easier to just cut full size but this being a budget project I just cut the scrap and assembled with pocket screws. |
