I prefer a method that works  I think a vacuum bag might be a good options for some of your gluing, or at least a compression strap.. in this post you can the see the faceted face due to the clamping, a former would prevent this. With a vacuum bag you can get pressure that is even, and up to about 8000kg per m2 http://festoolownersgroup.com/member-projects/round-side-table/msg186470/#msg186470
