Sandertainer
« on: May 08, 2016, 01:56 AM »
Hello colleagues.

I want to show my next tooltainer attempt to get useful opinions. It is belt sander machine on base of my makita9403 (still don't have Festool BS) which could be transported on job site in this systainer. Systainer is a body of machine and provide squarness and attachability to whole system. I think I'll mount here any beltsander of this class.

Really well done.  Too bad you could not leave the sander attached to the flip-down and store the pieces underneath.

Another innovative project!

I was browsing for ideas/plans for mounting my belt sander for bench use when I came across your Sandtainer - brilliant!
I've now viewed all your systainer related videos (several times!) and I'm in the process of setting up to make some standard size wooden systainers for my (none Festool) tools.
I want to make them as compatible as possible with real systainers but it's a little difficult as I don't have real systainer to compare them to. Fortunately, there are lots of drawings and CAD files with the systainer dimensions in them.
Currently. I'm making up some jigs out of MDF to make assembly a bit easier and more accurate. Not being able to afford baltic birch ply (expensive in Australia), I'll be making mine out of 9mm ply - 10mm is not a size sold here.
As I have a CNC router, I'm looking for a way to incorporate it in the construction.
Once again, thanks for your videos and the time you've take for the designs.
